yoranguavol, if there were any legitimate media members in knoxville that new how to report good information without putting there own spin on it or there own agendas, I would agree with ya. However after living in Knoxville for 10 years, I have not found one that can do that. You must not be familiar with the knoxville sports media. Zas seems to give more accurate info without all the BS!

Um------their?

Rogers lacked focus in HS as well according to some people I've talked to. Clearly has the physical skills, but didn't dominate big games like he should with the advantage he had physically. I was talking to one person in particular after the first day of practice when everyone was extremely impressed and the person maintained he'll be very good in time, but that he didn't expect much from him in his freshman year.

I think closing off practice to the media is dumb. Really do. If you can't make plays in front of guys clicking cameras, you can't make plays in front of 110,000 screaming SEC maniacs in a month.

Here's the real point: if you run your plays like you are supposed to, it won't matter if the other team has seen it/knows it's coming. I would hate to think that the difference between winning and losing this year is keeping the media from leaking a couple trick plays on the internet.

apparently you've never heard the term "bird dogin it." if you know what plays they run its a whole hell of a lot easier to prepare for. when you see the same blocking schemes too, you know where the ball is going and can get there a lot quicker.

It didn't hurt us in the 90's... and no I don't agree that local media have or would give away particular plays or other information that would damage our competative advantage on the field. Additionally, there are plenty of programs around the country which don't have such a strict policy.

If someone does give away too much info- BAN THEM and it will never happen again!

Zasnow. Does the O-line really look similar to the same level as last year?

Not media... LOL

I'd simply like to know more about the team and the best way for that to happen is for there to be media at the practices! Simple as that and not brain surgery. Do you not want more information?

Zasnow is giving us 100 times better info than John Adams ever could. It seems to be working about right, and could be much worse.

Yes, and it seems as though a lot of journalists are pissed they cannot watch practice but family members and ex-vols can.

Some people you can trust, others not so much. The local media has prided itself on what they identify as objectivity, which actually has often been an anti-UT agenda.
