As mentioned in other threads John Brown was at practice but he was just running on the side without any pads on. This still doesn't mean he is eligible yet.

Janzen Jackson and Nigel-Thorton were both out and starting corner Art Evans was limited with an injured left ankle.

Moore and Jones are the most dependable wide receivers. They arent superstars but they make very few mistakes. Seems like the majority of the practice they are teaching the younger receivers how to play the position.

Da'Rick looks like he has lack of concentration. Idk if he is adjusting to the whole college ting or not. He has bobbled numerous balls and hasn't finished his routes off well at all. This could be him adjusting just like Bray and every other freshman or maybe its a problem down the road. Guess we"ll see.

As mentioned before Hunter has more ability than Rogers. Hunter just needs to be football 100% of the time to become a great receiver. Hunter and MTSU transfer Williams continue to impress the coaching staff. I guess Williams will have to wait till next year.

Also Jimmy Hyams was at practice today and he said that he'll report on his show today that Dave Clawson's offense will succeed.

Simms looks decent.

Poole looks really well.

The offensive line will be a solid group like last year. It seems like they have enough talent and having worked together all spring and summer doesn't hurt either.

Williams and Walker were the starting ends. Malik looks like he will be a 3rd down rush guy like he was at USC and maybe even a 3-4 linebacker.

Hughes and Sykes were running with the 1s. Hughes didn't cramp up this practice so that is a good sign. Fowlkes and Jeffrey ran with the 2nd team.

I'm not getting the Dave Clawson thing either. Either he is ripping on Hyams or he meant Jim Chaney.

He isn't serious. It's a running joke about Hyams and the local media in general always being the last to report something. In this case, two years later.

It was a joke. We all know he is a day late and a dollar short.

If the media had the same chance to watch the practice that Zasnow has than I'm sure they would be better at getting info out... just a thought.

my understanding is that the media is outside of practice and only sees warm ups and after practice interviews.... is that not true?
