Just off the top of my head, I can think of one recent case that runs counter to this belief. In 2017, the Ole Miss football program had self imposed a one year bowl ban, scholarship reductions and some recruiting restrictions. The NCAA Committee on Infractions accepted those penalties, but then also added a second year of postseason eligibility for the 2018 season as well.

But that info hasn’t come out, the only info is a self imposed ban...the investigation was going on when Smith committed, nothing has happened to change a future outlook.

Why aren’t the facts of the investigation produced before any penalty is considered or assessed? Sounds like Bruce is trying to save some skin before the executioner sharpens his knife.
