You don't have to be a "genius coach" to be better than our current coach (IMO). Like it or not, he will market the Auburn program, like he did the Tennessee program. He will have the auburn students and alumni engaged, a skill set that CCM does not have.

No any fan could see we had talent just a terrible coach. He might turn it around quickly there like he did here but Auburn shouldn't hold their breath until he gets good players.

I like Jones, I think he'll be fine, but I heard the same crap about Dooley. He's definitely better than Dooley at recruiting, he actually beat a ranked, good team, and doesn't have the personality of a jackass, so it's looking up, but until we're in a bowl again, I'm wait and see.

Sickening. Auburn really does have the luckiest (and perhaps dirtiest) athletic department in the country. Hopefully Bruce will just use it as a stepping stone to get the heck out of the SEC. When you think about it, Bruce has kinda got the number of the other 2 really good coaches in the league, Cal and Billy D.

Who is worshiping CCM? Everyone knows he has to up the quality of basketball or will have to hit the road soon. That being said, the inability for this fanbase to move on from past coaches is astounding. Pearl's firing was deserved. We moved on and apparently, so has he.

For crying out loud, this again? He does NOT have Cal's number. He's 3-6 against him.

I'll give you Billy D, although I don't think that bothers him that much since Billy D points to his 2 national title rings.

I agree. I think he is a good hire for them. But I don't see him reaching the same level of success as he did here.

It will certainly take him a lot longer anyway. Coach K wouldn't be able to take next year's Auburn team to the dance. That was one of the huge components of his success here at UT; his sudden jolt of success and momentum to the program. Pearl won't be able to recruit until the fall. I think it will be a couple years before Auburn can even hope to sniff the tournament.

CJ Watson, Chris Lofton, JaJuan Smith, serviceable Dane Bradshaw and Major Wingate. We will see how Bruce does with the talent in Auburn his first year. Dolt.

All this hire did was change the meaning of BBB.

I have the same sick feeling today I had 3 years ago when Bruce was fired. I knew it was a long shot Bruce ever came back, but I wasn't prepared for it to happen this quick. I have nothing against Martin, but there is only one Bruce. I know I'm crying like a little girl , but this is a sad day.
