Considering the weakness of the SEC, it's the equivalent of going 7-5/8-4 in football vs a fairly easy schedule and more talent than 90% of the opposition.

Some people may be happy with that...but I'm not.

Maybe, but 10 years ago Cliff Ellis had them playing their best basketball in a long time and they still didn't care that much. And while Ellis wasn't as flashy as Pearl, it wasn't like he was stoic either.

I think if he has any success he'll bolt as soon as possible.

As great as everyone thinks Pearl was, he still never won an SEC Title. He made the Elite 8 once, which was a great accomplishment for UT BB, but he was eliminated in the First Round twice in the tournament

He's didn't win any titles at UT and probably won't at Auburn

I'll check in this time next year when we're looking for our new coach. CCM is not the answer. I guess a 4 game win streak erases a bunch of ****ty games. As far as talent, this year CCM has the most talent and the best this team can do is a play-in game. I think they'll beat Iowa, but Pearl gets players to overachieve, under CCM they underachieve!

Really can't be said any better. This is awful news. Sad days ahead for UT basketball. If you think this year was bad, wait until next year.

I guess the silver lining is that we used to suck at basketball when we were good at football, so looks like we are going to kick ass in football again real soon.
