Auburn commit Lemond Johnson considering switch to Tennessee

Auburn's 2013 recruiting class has lost three commitments since the dismissal of Gene Chizik and could be on the verge of losing another this weekend. Ft. Lauderdale athlete Lemond Johnson, who committed to Auburn in June, is wrapping up a two-day visit to Knoxville and according to an interview with 247Sports, Johnson might leave town

One major factor in Johnson's potential switch to the Vols is Tennessee's recent hiring of former Auburn assistant Tommy Thigpen, who recruited Johnson for the Tigers.
“It’s a pretty good part of me coming (to Tennessee), just because we talked about once or twice a week,” Johnson said.

Johnson is rated a three-star prospect according to the 247Composite rankings and is ranked the No. 30 safety prospect in the nation

He is an EE at a position of need that had offers from Auburn and LSU. With the uncertainty around Randolph's injury we need a safety in here in the spring.

Even with Randolph playing we need additional bodies that have SPEED!
