Auburn coach out?

I'd expect this to be handled with a small buyout by Sunday. You don't recover from this and it is out there burning like wildfire by Auburn to force his Harsins hand to accept the deal and maybe somehow stay married.
I agree. Auburn realizes they made a mistake and they have been handed a gift on a silver platter. Whatever Hardin settles for, his wife is going to take. Unless she’s a bigger fool than he is.

Lol what gift? All involved are denying these allegations…auburn must have some solid proof if they are going to fire him or they are going to have to dish out close to 20 mill to get rid of him

You may be more correct than you realize. Back in the 1970s, a study found that swinging was more prevalent among well-to-do Midwesterners, especially in the Minnesota and Wisconsin states, than California. It was assumed that California was the leader in this type of lifestyle, the study proved that was not the case. It's probably tampered off due to HIV and now the Covvie, but given the frequency of caught coaches and politicians hole punching outside their meaningful relationships, i doubt it has tampered down very much. As for nobody cares, well, it's big news each time one of them gets caught. This very thread illustrates that. If it has any legs, expect it to be on major news networks soon enough.

I think point here is not so much that he cheated on his wife but that he had relations with a subordinate. Someone that he had power over in the workplace.

If it’s all false, then there’s no story. Guess we’re going to find out, won’t we? By the way, if he has a morals clause in his contract and this is true, that’s the “gift”. Evidently you haven’t seen many contracts. It’s pretty common.

Wouldn't shock me if he's gone.

The hire never made sense in the first place. He's been in PNW almost his entire life and then is suddenly hired as an SEC coach. He has a 6-win season where his team falls apart at the end of the season. His assistant coaches keep leaving. Any scandal, however minor, is an excuse to get rid of him for Auburn.

Note, however, that if the same scandal happened to Bruce Pearl, there would be no talk of him being gone. Auburn will cling onto Pearl till he retires.

Yeah, that is a crazy situation. Alabama DC is sending him a thank you note about now.

How is it not a red flag for an early 20's co-ed to travel across the country to be your personal assistant? I guarantee you everybody in that building knew what was going on. He just needs a press conference with a neck brace, and we will be on our way.
lol

This reminds me: I admit that I miss those Girls of Auburn threads, or whoever UT was playing that given week. And shoutout to the poster who started including nerdy faculty/admin women in the Girls of (Whatever School) threads.

Also, with Auburn paying Gus $21.5 Million just to hire into this mess 14 months ago, I hope Auburn will soon take the tag from UT as the most dysfunctionally administered football program in the SEC. Been too damn long since we’ve been able to laugh without guilt at other schools!

Those are still around in "The Pub".
