I know alot of Vol Fans aren't giving UT a chance. I have said all week we match up better against AU at home thsn against Mizzou on the road or USCe at home.Dobbs and the receivers should have a good game. AU gives up more passing yards a game than UT, like 20 more and that includes them playing a horrible passing team in Arky. On the Road AU gives up 468 yards on Defense. We may or not win but those fans saying me have no chance obviously haven't watched AU play this yr. They do have a great Run offense and going against our bad D, they will get their yards and points. But for the yr we only give up 30 more yards a game on D. Their D is pretty bad themselves. Just saying I like our matchup much better this week, especially at home.

Somebody believes overall they are # 9 in the entire country. That said, GBO, god speed and good luck.

When you are 8-1 in the SEC you're going to be ranked high, no matter who you have played or beaten. Look at Mizzou. They weren't even ranked to start the season and got into the top 5. Playing in the SEC, as average as it is this yr is going to get you bonus points and paid attention too. Somebody thought Miami was #7 but they finslly played someone and got their a$$es handed to them.

You said it, they are going to put up rushing yard on our defense, uh huh, but I hope our game plan is geared toward that, we can hold their rushing with good coaching, maybe. Too many guys want to always jump on the OP, but, it's tomorrow, let's just watch and see.

Their pass D is bad. Really bad. Can Dobbs, North and Pig challenge them is the question.

Can we stop their run and force them to pass?

If we can do those two things we have a shot imo.

It's going to be nothing short of a miracle if our QB and receivers can get on the same page by this weekend. We're talking about a true Freshman QB throwing to a true sophomore, a RS Freshman, a true Freshman who was playing running back in high school 12 months ago, with no elite running back or dependAble tight end.

That said, I believe, that's why I'll be gnawing my fingernails at kickoff.

Wasn't Missouri a worse pass defense than AU?

Yea they are the two worst pass defenses. Difference is Mizzou has the 3rd best Rushing D which is why they have so many more passing attemps against their D than Auburn's. And AU gives up over 150 yards rushing a game as well. Thing with Mizzou is they lead the conference in forcing turnovers. Too many people throw up AU beating A'M and they beat them with an injured Manziel and A'M from a stat standpoint has the worst D in the conference. And LSU beat AU very easily. My point is we have a good chance if we don't turn the ball over and have stupid penalties.

I'm having a really tough time figuring out which receivers you're referring to.

For the most part they were on the same page last week. I mean 26-42 isnt bad for a True FR making his first start on the road and had atleast 4 drops and should have had 100+ more yards and 2 TD passes. They should be much more on the same page this week and the comfort of playing at home. I wish Bransiel would get more touch's, he has made the catch's when in there. Must be his blocking but not like Downs is a great blocker either. Definitely need help at TE, glad its coming in this upcoming class.

That's a good point they did manufacture some good drives that were stalled by dropped passes and stupid o line penalties. I think we all forget how incredibly young and inexperienced we are.

I somehow convinced myself we actually had a chance against Missouri and look how that turned out. I'm just going to watch the game and hope.

(1) We had no chance against Auburn in 19985

(2) We had no chance against Miami in the Sugar Bowl

(3) We had no chance against LSU, in Death Valley, with Rick Clausen at q.b. and us being far behind at half time

(4) We had no chance against Notre Dame at South Bend

All those Tennessee teams were still better than this Tennessee team IMO. Though I don't remember 85...

I've watched a lot of Auburn this year, and op is right. They aren't good on defense period. If the offense can limit turnovers we can at least keep up with them.

But do we have the offense that Texas A&M had to keep it a close, high scoring game?
