Attitude

That is a weak excuse.

So you think Murphy wasn’t in the wrong 100% for what he tweeted?

And on top of that, you 100% think that Pruitt is the issue and Murphy isn’t just a trouble maker in the locker room because the coach that didn’t recruit him is playing other guys over him?

Pruitt isn’t my favorite person but I’m not gonna hip fire rapid reactions and pass final judgement over a coach 13 games into his career.

I’m also gonna be realistic about what happened. Especially given the circumstances (Murphy’s tweet and player only meeting on Sunday).....

I’m also gonna know that wanting to can Pruitt now after 13 games does nothing but cause more long term harm to the program and apparently people don’t care about that because they aren’t dealing in reality.

i agree with not canning the guy right now as he has time to right the ship....but after the way last season ended and this one began......fans have more than enough right to wonder

If Murphy is in the locker room causing trouble it's 100% Pruitt's fault.

I don’t think fans have to wonder far.

I think Pruitt walked into a locker room and toxic culture and it is something that started trending 3 years ago. It doesn’t help that the locker room doesn’t have an overwhelming majority of his guys either.

So far we have seen Pruitt as a roller coaster.

Big unexpected wins vs Auburn and UK and then a low with loss this past weekend. The guy has shown his system can work. If a vocal minority of guys don’t like it or don’t want to buy in, Pruitt can’t force them too. He can only flush them out 25 guys per year.

It takes times. Unfortunately.

In what world? I would love nothing more than Pruitt to clean house of those guys but it’s clear there’s an issue with some guys not buying in that we’re Butch recruits. Jennings and Callaway and Chandler aren’t out running their mouths and talking ah!t about the team. May not be a lot but it’s clear there are problem kids on the team and it should be dealt with. However, booting people isn’t gonna result in instant success. Takes time to rebuild and that’s in recruiting. That’s only 25 guys per year.

Then don't say this a week before the season starts:

"I think we have a really good team. I know that sounds crazy." - Pruitt

OK, I will get Pruitt to give a retraction, and say, "I lied. We are terrible. We are going to lose them all this year.".... What is a head coach supposed to say?

I think he likes a lot of his players, and he knows that many of them will be good players some day, but he is also realistic enough to know that this is another rebuilding year, regardless of what anyone would like to believe, including himself.

Now, be honest. Would you have been happy if he said anything different at that point?

Murphy is one guy. If he's causing trouble and Pruitt is allowing him to remain then it's 100% on Pruitt.

I could accept and I think many would a bust of a season due to cutting problem makers hurting the team. Lord knows the team isn't showing signs of improvement with them.

Losing to GA state on the heels of getting boatraced by Mizzu and Vandy isn't rebuilding, it's demolition.

Nice straw man. If he truly believes this is another rebuilding year, then don't say that you have "a really good team". That just creates false expectations for a fan base that he knows is desperate for a winner.

Honestly, it's hard to believe anything that anyone associated with the program says in an interview or news conference setting. Rarely does anything said translate to what happens on the field anymore.

It's not JG
Its not the O-Line
It's not the D-line
It's not Chaney or any of that other stuff........

It's the team's attitude! Now maybe that is due to some of the things Pruitt has said and put out there in the media. Maybe something internal, but the real reason we are 0-3 in the last three games is the crap attitude of the team when its time for football.
I agree , but you have to have a leader step up and take it on themselves, typically that needs to be the QB because he touches the ball every possession. If you don’t have someone who’s not afraid to hold others accountable and lead by example through highs and lows , then you will just have mediocrity. What would Tebow do ? Part of what made him great was his refuse to lose mentality , not a why am I here mentality.

I don’t recall Richt ever making the playoffs at UGA or recruiting like they are now. You could make an argument that early Richt was a good coach. When UGA fired him he wasn’t that guy any more, which is why he crashed and burned at Miami.
Probably the same reason no one hired Fulmer after he was fired...

I've heard it alluded to many times, but what exactly was the problem with Pruitt at UGA. What was the beef with the other coaches and internal stuff? I know a lot of Dawg fans who absolutely can't stand the guy.

At least 2 coaches, Thomas Brown and Mike Ekeler were very close to a physical confrontations with Pruitt. Brown because he thought Pruitt was trying to pull a coup and Ekeler because he was a LB coach that became Pruitt's whipping boy. (With Treon Harris at QB, Pruitt played nickel D and refused to bring a SS up for run support. UF ran for over 400 yrds and Pruitt threw Ekeler under the bus.)

Also, Pruitt showed up drunk to a recruiting event at MR's home and created a fairly ugly scene. In short, Pruitt was hired to bring some fire back to the program and he did. He also brought the fire water and divided the staff and the team. I don't know this for a fact but I've heard he threw a football at Brian Schottenheimer's head but most UGA fans hated Shotty.

Thanks, I've been wondering what the deal was. I appreciate the info.

???? Missed the "statement".
how he was just not really excited, but the kids were. chewed osborne, who had one hell of a game in the secondary, out over lateraling the ball to his teammate after his second int........which probably led to osborne transferring.

Jeremy Pruitt felt some Tennessee players ‘flat out quit’ in spring game

That's from the 2018 spring game...

At some point a coach has to start to question his methodologies for motivating players.
But why did we have two freshman all Americans last year's. Not trying to be a smart*** but if he couldn't somehow motivate players then that doesn't happen. Especially considering one player in Alonate Taylor was coming in here to WR and Pruitt put him on defense and now he is one of our top defenders. Does that make sense?

If their skin is that thin, then, then, then.....

Ha. If that's what lead to it, then he's mentally weak then. Was stupid to throw it when he already had it.
