Attendance smallest since 1996

There are explanations of course. But the first sub 100k crowd since '96 cannot be blown off. There are attitudes about this program in play as well. Will the number jump back up this week? Sure. Let's not get lulled into thinking all is well though... and heaven forbid UT puts on another 12:30 blah game on Saturday.

I drove in and it was the smallest crowd I've ever seen. But again ULL only brought 3 fans with them.

Next time any of you guys don't want to go to game, just throw you tickets my way. I would be happy to go to any game.

Why the hell did we allot that many tickets to ULL anyways? They probably don't have 6,000 fans in the entire state of Louisiana.

95K is a joke. As can be seen in the above pictures, certain sections of the upper deck (endzone and even sidelines) were over half empty. The crowd was silent. Only me and one other person in my section were even yelling while we were on defense, and nobody stood. . . .at all.

Worst atmosphere at Neyland that I can remember.

true La-Laf is 1-8 but how often does UT not have a sellout at home?
i don't know, but i've been to two games in the last 5 years that looked like the place was empty......the MSU game and Duke games in 03 were about as empty as i'd ever seen Neyland.

so it's not surprising to me. Memphis 3 years ago was also fairly empty.

i don't think it's anything new.

the difference this year is that less people traveled in for this game. in years past , this is the type of game that people that couldn't get to games in conf. for whatever reason would travel for just to see the vols play their one or two times a year.

obviously that didn't happen this year. it's not the first time, it's not the first time recently.
