The attendance of 96,197 for the Tennessee/LA-LAF was the smallest attendance since Tennessee expanded Neyland Stadium in 1996.

The stadium seats 102,038 and was averaging 105,423 in attendance for the season.

The point I was trying to make......sometimes UT gives away thousands of tickets to kids and others, with the impression being that everyone should be overjoyed because there was a 'sellout.' I know today didn't come close.

if they do that every game then why do you think they didnt do that this game? It was homecoming and a game that would be more difficult to draw because of the easy competition. Seems to me they would have have given away more tickets for this game.

my point is, that free tickets are a constant.

Most of the empty seats were on the jumbotron side near the top which is normally away seats but ULL turned in a bunch of tickets

The attendance figures announced at the game are the number of tickets sold, not how many people that come through the gates.

I was there ULL had around 15 fans. empty seats all over the place the row i was sitting in was half full.

Yep, small crowd today but luckily, everyone seated directly around me decided to come and bring their children to boot. :crazy:
