Attendance next weekend

Meh. I want to see what football looks like on this new fangled 4K tv I just got so I'll be watching it at the house. I'm going to the OK game though.

I want to hear what you think about it. I've heard mixed reviews, not because of the TV's themselves, but rather what the networks broadcast in (720p or 1080i). But watching movies on them (netflix or apple tv) WOW!

Yes I know the game is in Nashville and not Neyland. Yes I know the team we are playing isn't a big time team or rival. BUT how can we not sell out a stadium that is roughly 40,000 seats smaller than Neyland that is centrally located in our state?

expensive tickets for a below average opponent in an average stadium the week before the even more expensive Oklahoma game.

There's your answer.

Tickets going for like $45. That is on par with Vol home games. Poor excuse.

Bowling Green, while not Oklahoma, is better than you think and runs a very fast paced offense. And it is the first game. Poor excuse.

While not Neyland Stadium, Nissan Stadium is all chair back, there will be beer, albeit expensive like all games, and honestly better food options. Poor excuse.

Mid-State fans drive every home game in droves. It isn't that far. We talk about being this huge fan base so we should be able to sell out an opening game that is centrally located in our state that is roughly 40,000 less capacity of our home stadium.

69k capacity and about 61k sold as of a day or two ago. Its may not be as empy as some are predicting here.

Scalping is not illegal in Tennessee. Not sure how many tickets will be on the street since there are still 8-9000 seats left. Of course those are all upper deck. Once kick off happens, the price will drop, but personally it is worth it to pay the extra to be there for all the stuff before hand.

Anywhere in the state is a short journey. There really are few excuses not to sell out a stadium that is in the state.

I heard that is illegal ?
Heard wrong. Those fools will try to rip you a new one in a heartbeat. The only time the cops get involved is if they get wind of fake tickets or they start fighting over street corners.(It happens all the time)

Jones made a mistake trying to goad people into going to the game. People won't go to a game out of an obligation. They go because they think it will be fun. He should have just talked up the opportunity to see all the young players.
Plus ticket prices were too high, although that's mostly because of the 13 dollar ticket fee that Nashville charges. Upper deck sears should have only been 30 or 40 dollars. They should have begun selling 45 dollar tickets earlier. They better not try to charge 125 dollars a ticket to the Virginia Tech game, especially in that venue.
Also Bowling Green will bring no fans, as most of its 3000 lower deck tickets were bought by Tennessee fans. If Bowling Green had brought closer to 5000 fans, we would be close to a sell out.

I bet you're fun at parties.

Game in Nashville on a holiday weekend. Yeah. No fun there. Ticket prices in upper deck start at $45 and have since day one. If you go thru ticketmaster, then you have fees. I believe if you go thru UT, they don't charge the same fees. First time I've ever heard vol fans use so many lame excuses as to why they won't go to a vols game within the state.

It's a pathetic money grab that is back firing on them.

There is only one place the Vols should be opening the season against Bowling Green and it ain't Nashville.
