The Volunteers are winning, but fans aren’t showing up the way they typically do at Neyland Stadium. Saturday’s announced attendance of 87,758 was the lowest seen at the 102,500-capacity stadium in years. In three home games, the Vols haven’t seen more than 95,000 fans.

Because Montana, Cincinnati, and Buffalo are just the types of teams that bring in big crowds.

3 home games have been Montana, Cincy, and Buffalo.

If you had to balance your expenses and pick a few home games to see this year instead of all of them, I can guarantee that these wouldn't make the list.

This week was a perfect storm that created numbers that low. Students gone, bad economy, bad opponent, coming off a bye week and a loss, cooler temps..... This will change coming into SEC play. We beat GA, LSU game will be packed.

Big diference between WINNING and WINNING IN THE SEC. We start winning in our conference and the place will be rocking. Put competition on the field, like for instance, this weekend's game.. and attendence will go up. But do not complain because you can not fill seats for Montana and Buffalo.

We are soooooooooooooo spoiled as fans..

I could name you 100 BCS schools who would give you their AD's left nut on a platter to put that many fans in the stands

I wonder how many people crying about attendance went to the game. I went to Buffalo but will not go to as many as normal. The economy sucks and HD TVs are nice.

With the move towards smaller schools in the early season schedule, this will be pretty typical in the future. Any expectations otherwise won't be realistic, even as the team improves. I don't care if UT is a contender in the future, in today's economy, the Buffalos and Montanas of the world will never put 100,000 butts in the seats...

I get more annoyed at the people that go to the games and leave before it's over. Specifically during a win against a decent opponent.

I understand beating traffic, I drive from Nashville. But it will be downright embarrassing if we are beating the sht out of Georgia and the stadium empties like it did against Cincy.

plus the game was on TV with a 12:30 start. Also, Buffalo didn't travel...We had more band memebers then they had fans.

I was there, crowd wasnt good but that was expected. If we dont hit 99k + this weekend then I'll be disappointed.

I'm with you!! I bought seats I'm seeing the clock hit 0:0 period.
I usually have someone take a picture of my family with the scoreboard in the background after the game. The one from Buffalo looked like we stopped by on an off week.

UGA must have the worst drivers, it always takes a least an extra hour or two to get home after a UT/UGA game...no matter what the score is. Mark my words when you are sitting in your car in the Fort not moving.
