Atlanta Vol has spoken!

Don't know who atlantavol is and don't care. I simply know that after yesterday and the absolute ignorance and hostility displayed by this fan base that our chances of landing a coach of any quality is GONE! Anyone thinking otherwise is either ignorant, stupid or completely delusional! Wanting something and actually getting it is completely different! What coach in his right mind would intentionally fall into this toxic environment?

If you think we were getting a quality coach, then you’re purely basing that on guessing he will be good, and not on his record. We dodged a .500 bullet yesterday.

Can't stop watching this dumpster fire, it has so many different colors and hues, it's actually beautiful in it's own way:)

Currie is gone or i am. All this time people were led to believe he was courting someone big. Looking at statements and timing of it all , Schiano was his man from early on , did he make gruden or petersen or patterson or kiffin say no? Did he reach out to ANYONE worth a dime? WHY BARGAIN BIN HIRE WHEN YOU CAN PUT 340M INTO STADIUM?

Your assumption is that he has something to hide. That is your opinion but if he knows there is no risk why wouldn't he?

If you were not aware there was a major investigation into the PSU deal and he wasn't on anyone's radar then. Perhaps you are right and he is afraid of something coming out but if he isn't I would fight like hell if I was in his shoes.

It's all about how much he can get without actually risking a trial IMO. Any win proves UT was wrong and they had no grounds.

He seems to have a lot of actual dirt from his time at Tampa.

I feel his message is important enough to have its own thread so that everyone can see what he said and his advice to let your voices be heard!

I urge all of you no matter how big or small a donor to let the folks at UTAD department know we expect a healthy process and fair shake....if not support other good causes and get tickets on stub hub the day of the game if you want but do not donate until resolution has come.”

Old money does control this town and it does cause problems. However, UT has hired outside of Tennessee for many power positions starting with Kiffin. Not sure that’s the problem. We just don’t know how to get the big names and that, I think, has more to do with a certain segment of our fan base than it does old money.

Blackburn - AD
Fulmer- Football ops
Kiffin- HC

Kiffin thrives in chaos and brings the swagger we need. His current staff is SEC level. He has openly admitted his previous mistakes and has learned from them.

Kiffin would be a perfect fit right now

I don't understand your specific kind of stupid, but I do admire your dedication to it! Your right it is the turning point for this program and its a bad one! NO quality coach will touch this place with a 10 foot pole! We haven't been able to pull ourselves out of the mess we created when we fired Fulmer so what in the hell makes you think this will be any different? Just because we demand something doesn't mean it will happen! We demanded that Jon Gruden be hired! That hasn't happened and never will! The coach WE want actually has to WANT to be here!

No he was right - you are representative of the problem. The truth is only a small percentage of fans thought Gruden was a real possibility. It is also true that a large percentage of fans are tired of being taken for granted with garbage hires by incompetent leaders.

It didn't have to be Gruden or Kelly. But it sure as hell shouldn't have been Schiano.

It has nothing to do with our fan base or Alabama would have never landed Saban, South Carolina would have never landed Granny and Spurier, Florida would have never landed anyone of human ancestry, etc.... Our fan base has no more nor any fewer fringe folks than any other.

Don't buy into this media garbage about our fans. Pardon the brief foray into non-sports, but it's no different from the bigoted characterizations the media makes toward southerners, Christians, etc. They have an agenda and those who do not act like them or fit their agenda are "dangerous."

So, you would have us simply accept a coach with ties to a pedophile scandal? For the most part, I'm proud of our fan base's response.

Define quality coach. Let me hear your definition.

Not sure how I feel now about Kiffin
Do know I feel better about him than the hire we avoided yesterday
If Kiffin has slowed down some his past issues then he may be a good coach

Guys, I’m as dejected and depressed as one could be in this situation. But the one silver lining is that we are strong when we unite. Knowing that, it gives me hope that we can still make a solid hire and can remove those that don’t have our best interests in heart.

Judging by several boosters reactions, it is clear that there is an attempt to make this happen. It’s our jobs to keep our voices loud enough to be heard, and not dismissed. Keep the pressure up on social media, it obviously is a great weapon for us to use. Don’t let the media make the narrative about us being spoiled, or entitled as they are trying to do, not without a fight.

It’s time for us to help make this change, along with everyone in AD who didn’t want this to happen, and all our alumni and boosters who are fighting so hard for us as well.

Go Vols!!!
We?
As of bow, the same dumbass(es) that put forth Schiano are still in charge.

Come on! You probably didn't even know the guy was on the staff at Penn State until yesterday. He was 25 at the time and just starting his career. He wasn't my first pick but the moral outrage is a bunch of BS! The simple fact is that most of the outrage is being flammed by these idiot Gruden groupies that can't come to grips with the fact that he is NEVER going to be the coach at UT! Most everyone simply latched onto the first negative thing they heard about Shaino and ran with it. I don't know if the guy did anything wrong or not, but I'm not willing to condemn a man based on hearsay. Don't get me wrong I didn't want him because I don't think he would be a good fit.

More ridiculousness and outright lies.

Very few actual season ticket holders wanted Gruden or believed he was ever going to be the guy. They are the ones who threatened to give up their season tickets, not the dumbasses living on the Gruden thread.

As to the ridiculousness... he was 25 at the time. Give me an effing break. Did you know at the tender age of 25 a 40 year old man raping a 10 year old boy was wrong?

He was only 25.... pathetic.

He has been caught doing some other questionably moral things that would come up. Josh Freeman stuff would be interesting.

Newsflash, our last 3 hires weren't quality coaches and we damn sure wasn't going to get a 4th one shoved down our throat, again.

Get in your safeplace out in AZ, we aren't done here in Knoxville yet.

MOU should have been written as non-binding. Unless a contract was signed he is not entitled to a penny unless stated in the MOU.

This is likely to save face and prove UT had no reason to walk away. Don't blame him; it is his professional career at stake and he got flamed on speculation.

I do wonder if there is a potential civil suit? Any legal smart folks have thoughts?

MOU's for coaches are binding (at for least Tennessee coaches)...if properly signed by all parties. I think I heard Currie signed it but chancellor (and possibly others) didn't. You can take anyone to court over anything (ask my ex) but that doesn't mean you'll win (again, ask my ex).

I remember hearing either when Butch first came or maybe it was Dools, they had already coached spring practice and hadn't yet signed contract...and it was no big deal because they had signed the MOU.

I know he wants to be here and kids love him and will play hard for him unlike this root canal we have gone through the last few
