I thought that those of us that live in Atlanta/Atlanta Metro could use this thread to help people out, a lot of good advice is buried in the hotel thread. If you are driving in, for tailgating, there are multiple lots around the stadium, I've tailgated in all of them. Feel free to setup grills and drink beer, I've never been harassed.

IMPORTANT - If you are here until Sunday, Georgia does not allow the sale of alcohol in retail stores on Sunday.

I've traveled the whole country and the best BBQ you'll find is Fox Brothers BBQ.

Definitely a must for visitors to ATL.

Who's gonna let me park my car in their driveway and ride to the game with them?

It is very good....I like Shallow at the Hollow better. It is a little out of the way for the "game" crowd though.

Best beer bar: the Brick Store over in Decatur. Worth a trip over to Decatur if you're into beer at all. Outstanding, constantly rotating selection.

The Porter in Little 5 Points is excellent too, and may have an even better selection, but it loses a few points for being in Little 5.

Never been to Greenwood's.

It's right across the street from Swallow, looks like an old run down building with an overgrown garden. Great southern cooking and best chocolate pie I've had in my life. Alpharetta/Roswell would be a haul though for anyone downtown unless someone is heading up to Dawsonville for some shopping.

I strongly encourage the Va Tech fans to take advantage of the opportunity to indulge lady luck by accepting the invitation to play a few games of three card monte which will no doubt be offered by one of many Atlantan goodwill ambassadors who will saturate the parking lots and places of general public congregation around the Georgia Dome. You will have no trouble identifying these fine folks by their distinctive accoutrement, generally, half a pizza box strung around the neck with a strand of twine. As a gift from me to you, I offer the following hint: If you win the first game, it means you have keen eyesight, unflinching abilities of concentration and a general knack for the sport and you should most definitely raise the ante to the limit before your humble dealer realizes these traits in you and politely retires in search of less skillful participants.

While you're at it, you should also bet heavily upon the mighty ACC powerhouse VT to dominate the mediocre Vols.
