Atlanta Hawks/The Highlight Factory Thread

I love Korver's defense. It's significantly better than average, IMO and so is his rebounding for a SG.

The dispensible argument isn't black and white. The Hawks talent is spread out, so while any one injury might hurt, they are shielded from the potential of a superstar injury derailing them.

I still think Millsap is clearly the most important player as of today. He picks this team up when they need it. And he can attack with the best of them. It's not a Stat thing. You can just feel it.

I don't think they're shielded from anything. They're completely screwed if any of Horford, Millsap, or Korver go down, and probably screwed if Teague goes out. (He is not less important; Schröder's probably just capable of holding down the fort better if forced into a starting role.) If anything the Hawks have more points of vulnerability than other teams.

Whether they pull this one out, it's clear that Philips Arena has finally come alive. Haven't heard a crowd like that since the mid 90s.

Horford willed them through the 4th quarter. I literally stood up in my den when Al pump faked and went to the rim at the end of the game. He lets that jumper fly 9 out of 10 times. It was the perfect time to put it on the floor.

Horford was magnificent. The offense was ugly down the stretch -- Korver couldn't work himself open, and the whole thing sort of wilted -- but somehow Horford got them through it. DeMarre can't get back fast enough.

They are def off tonight. Hopefully they can squeeze this one out, win against the Wizards and have the streak still going come Friday. Philips should be electric.

You were saying? lol

It was a very impressive run.

Ironically, if the Cavs lose to the Clips Thursday, the Grizz could have the longest active winning streak in the NBA when these two meet on Sunday! :p

Haha doh. I'm not upset about it though. You could tell the last few games that it was taking a toll on the guys.

Time to start another streak tonight. And since there is no longer any worries of my bad luck ending the streak, I'm going to this one. Go Hawks!
