I wonder if the Teixeira deal has made them weary of trading top prospects.

The Braves are also in the #8 TV market before you even count the viewing area outside of Atlanta. They could do better.

But they have 15th best attendance. Say all you want about the big spenders but it's all about attendance. Yankees, Phillies, Red Sox, Cubs, all sell out every single night.

Each of those is also a larger market than Atlanta, marginally or not. My point is that the Braves have the resources to make a deal right now. This is not Kansas City that we are talking about here. Being around the middle of the league in attendance is no excuse for making bad moves. We aren't talking about buying an All Star team. If these sources are to be believed, the only thing holding up a trade for Hunter Pence is Mike Minor. If that is true then that is nothing but pure stupidity by Wren or cheapness on the part of Liberty Media. Does anyone expect Minor to be the next Tom Glavine?

So I am back at the best message board online, please elaborate. If we can get a better hitting cf for less why has this not been persued...
