Athlon Sports rates Ty Chandler as Top 10 RB in the country

I watched a lot of our “highlights” from each game last year. To be honest, I had forgotten how good Chandler looked. He actually is a really physical back. He straight up trucked guys a couple times last season and I think his speed overshadows that. Guy has soft hands too. Definitely more of an all purpose back, but his power is deceiving also.

I’m excited to see him with a season under his belt and some more weight on his bones.

While Ty Chandler is a great back I don't think he is an every down back. I honestly don't think his frame can sustain taking hits every play. He is physical though and I like that.

That being said Tennessee will use a stable and keep our guys fresh and Chandler will put up some great numbers.

An interesting top 10...

I probably wouldn't have put Miles Sanders that high on the list.

Yeah I was sad seeing a couple of his long runs called back because of a silly penalty last season -- I think he will have a great season with the new offense

I think for Ty to have that breakout season, he won't be the feature back but more of a role AK played for the Saints

Yes, but we don't have any talent on this team.

All I'm asking for is, as Pruitt says, when they walk off the field, we can be proud of the effort on the field...if they do that, they'll win some games, and make the climb back to the top more enjoyable, even if 7 wins is probably the ceiling this year. Go Vols!

I agree. He will breakout and end up around 1400 yards from scrimmage.

Eh. His frame is similar to Travis Stephens (Ty is probably 10 pounds or so heavier). He can handle it 15 to 20 times a game if needed.
