Fair point; keep thinking he committed.

A lot of recruiters sell the school more than the recruiter, but I think I read that Goldman was big on Bama because of his relationship with Sunseri (good news if true).

Dooley said in his presser that he had a lot of respect for Nic and will not compromise that...to me it's a sign of CDD's character.

Hey

I've only finding out some of the "comings & going" with UT and in the last week or so it's been a revolving door. Besides the HC job the OC and DC jobs are always the most concerned ones. I'm trying to catch up on "Sal" and by all accounts or at least on paper he could very well be "IT"...meaning retuning UT to the top in not only defense but getting better quality players and a class.

The "Chief Chavis" was this way in the early days and when we won the NC. Our trademark was speed and a stingy defense. Is "Sal" our next "Chief"? A pretty good article I read is here and they give Dooley really high marks for bringing Sal in.

I think all in all we've netted a gain in recruiting mainly due to Pittman > Heistand. An upgrade at RB coaching obviously since we had none. I think that the Sal Wilcox trade off is likey to be a neutral but if he provides better motivation which seems to be a strength then it will be a plus when the players buy in.

I do think Sal goes after recruits he contacted while at Bama. Bama has 26 or 27 commits(according to which service u look at) in the SEC we can only have 25....so anyone not committed should be fair game cause Bama is going to have to push a commit out to make room for them.....Sal should be helping by taking his recruit ous with him....don't you think?

I've read that Goldmans favorite person in all of football is coach Sal. I'm really thinking Goldman winds up at FSU.

No only in coaching. IMO Sal on recruiting almost balances with Wilcox + Sirmon. If they bring in someone strong in recruiting on the D side it will be a definate improvement.

Sunseri >>>>>>>>> Wilcox/Sirmon as far as recruiting. It's not even close. Graham is a beast on the recruiting front as well. We are 10 times better off as far as recruiting is concerned with the last 3 hires. We are approaching how good we were under Kiifins rein of idiocy.

After reading that article and seeing the potential upset of KY, I may explode. I live in Louisville and there would be nothing more beautiful than seeing all of those folks wearing blue and white with their heads down.

If only we had been willing to cave to some of Shannon's demands we could have had him. And then he, like others that have come before him recently, would have played us like a Stradivarius and left in two years or less after rehabilitating his reputation.

This hire was a great hire, folks, especially considering the impression on the street fostered by many on this board, that Dooley is a dead man walking.

Great job coach Dooley and AD Hart in getting this done.

Honestly I think it's because he enjoys still getting paid by Miami. If he takes another job, the checks stop. So he is being extremely picky about where he wants to go. Also whether or not he had anything at all to do with what went on in Miami (most say he did not) has to slightly hurt him. Lastly he is asking for a heck of alot in his next contract, as we all saw/heard/speculated on here. All of this is jmo.

Good hire and agree with the article. He brings all the tools and experience to be a great hire. People will see results next year.
