Without great defensive players like Berry etc., Chavis is not capable of running a lemonade stand. I still have fond memories of the soft pass coverage in the UCLA game.
Just to play devil's advocate against another 1st time poster, which defensive coordinator has been able to stop a decent offense without good players?
I agree. I've seen a few people on here talk about getting rid of Chavis too, and I don't understand that. Yeah the UCLA game sucked but it seems to me, especially now that he's in the box, the d is awesome. Just like in '05. Even Majors said Chavis has saved CPF's job all these years!!I wouldn't knock Chavis at this point, our D is ranked 14th nationally with absolutely no help from the O. It's tough to be on the field as much as this group and still have solid numbers. If our O was in the top 75, our D might be top 5. So for everything wrong at UT this year, it ain't the Chavis led D.
No! No! No! - Stadium name still Neyland. "The Hill" renamed "The Fulmer; alma mater rewritten "On a hallowed Fulmer..."They are still negotiating Fulmer's demands. Beside the buyout, he still remains adamant about renaming Neyland Stadium to Fulmer Stadium. This would make up for Fulmer not having the opportunity to break Neyland's win record. Hamilton has countered with forfeiting 100 of Neyland's wins.

besides, Chief has sworn repeatedly that he does not run a "soft zone". Forget UCLA. It actually never happened. I know; I don't believe my eyes any more either.Just to play devil's advocate against another 1st time poster, which defensive coordinator has been able to stop a decent offense without good players?
no moving vans?Fulmer: ‘I’ve got good support from everybody concerned’

Yeah, 14th ranked defense in the nation with an offense ranked 115th? I would say that Chavis is doing a horrible job and would be a horrible choice to be an interim head coach. :banghead2:
