So if I am reading this correctly....

Blair
Hurd
Thomas
and Moseley

are all officially VFLs?

no. they could still sign elsewhere, but i doubt they will. these papers basically secure a spot for them. the school is not aloud to back out of the agreement, but the recruit is aloud to sign elsewhere

They could, theoretically, change their minds if they chose, but we a bound to accept them now. Deff a good sign they are VFLs!

One foot in the door essentially. It just adds a little weight to the commitment, if I have read the new rules correctly. From what I understand, they can still back out but it will be a lot of red tape to deal with in getting out of the athletic aid agreement.

Its great that it lifts recruiting restrictions and whatnot, but I still think its important that this becomes a two way street.

Otherwise schools will get burned.

Also, I wonder if student does not EE, if its still binding for school?

Very confident if they don't EE the agreement would be voided

An early signing period would eliminate those issues. Isn't that what you said wouldn't be good?

It was poorly worded. I meant if there is not an early signing period it could at some point leave limited upside.

Yeah I totally botched putting a complete thought.

I think this is a win for both student and university. The scholarship is honored and it allows a potential student athlete to decide differently if a coach has been removed so we can stop this non-sense of when someone is removed a recruit can't start to look around.

The university wins because it definitely adds to the commitment with some actual facts and numbers with the verbal and written offer; and also possibly will lead to a November signing period like Bball has.

Btw please fix your post it should say Coleman Thomas and Emmanuel Moseley so know one thinks we got a commitment from Charles Moseley or Cory Thomas without Ron Swanson or someone else posting it, lol

I am kidding, man

I may still be lost and sorry if I am, but if they haven't signed their LOI then how can coaches talk about a recruit on twitter?

Because certain NLI restrictions are removed for the institution which granted the financial aid agreement. Those restrictions still apply to other institution's recruiters though in relation to that particular kid.
