Good luck with this, my experience with going to a game in Athens is "better bring a tent, cause you will probably need it"!

A hotel in town is a tough get this late in the game; if you are looking for stumbling distance, I fear you are out of luck.

My best advice at this point is to bring an SUV and camp out in the Clayton Street garage if you don't want to drive on Saturday night.

If you are not drinking, then I suggest staying in Lawrenceville near Ga. 316 or in Duluth near I-85. Both are about 30-40min away from Athens in the ATL burbs.

PS- Go to Uncle Otto's on Broad to eat and the Nowhere Bar on Lumpkin to drink.

Check hotels in Madison and Greensboro. Sort of off the 316 thoroughfare.

Good luck finding something. The wife and I are lucky, her aunt and uncle live in Athens and we will be staying with them. Hope to see you at the game.

you'll have no luck here in town. Someone above suggested Madison and Greensboro. I'm honestly not sure where Greensboro is, but I'd think you'd have better luck Along I-85 from Commerce to Buford. Those places will be between 30 and 90 minutes away after the game ends, but at least you'll have someplace to stay.

Allgoods (on Clayton St. between Jackson and College) and Walkers (College St. a stone's throw from the arch) and the Winery (near corner of Broad st. and Jackson) are good if you're a few years out of college and looking to talk sh*t to dawg fans (which I fully plan on doing). Lot of grad students go to those places. For food, Harry Bissett's (Broad St. just down from the arch) is a great restaurant and bar for a drink and nice dinner ($15-20), especially on gamedays. If you're looking for a break from the action and just want a good meal (sans tvs), Last Resort (near Clayton and Hull) is a great option for about $15.

Find you a chick at a bar and just stay at her house j/k. Good luck on finding somewhere this late in the week. Commerce is about a 30-40 min drive. I would say they have rooms over there.

Five guys is awesome.

BUT UNCLE OTTO'S has the best fries in the whole damn state of Georgia. It is about a block down the hill away from the Arch on the right.

Its in the direction the following finger is pointing... :)

The Varsity is one of the single most overrated experiences I can think of. It's McDonald's with hot dogs and chili.
