I don't how their buyouts are structured, but if it is like most, their previous employers would be paying a good part of their salaries. Definitely more accomplished than Dave Doeren.

Yep. I think you offer Miles 6 million for 3 years, give him another 6-8 for a staff and he would jump on that in a second.

It doesn't matter what we say, Currie is a puppet of HOH and nothing is going to change that. Miles, Kiffin, and probably Brady Hoke would do a better job as Head Coach than the man Currie is about to hire.

Before anybody else we’ve offered not named Gundy. This is embarrassing. Catching flack down here in south ga from every other fan base. And we are pursuing a below 500 coach from a middle of the pack program in the ACC. It’s just unreal.

Sumlin was 51-29 while in the SEC west...what was bUTch’s SEC record? Why were we not on Sumlin’s front porch waiting on him to get home from his final day at the office after being fired at Ta&m? He would be worth 7M /yr.

Miles is just looking for a stage to perform The Les Miles Show. He can go be an idiot somewhere else.

Dawg Post reports that Hugh Freeze has been consulting GA Bulldogs ....

The man is the best unemployed HC available. He will be back one way or another. If so, I would prefer her be on our sidelines. I put him ahead of Sumlin or Miles. Way better than the new "Butches" Currie is chasing! No buyout and pbly fair cheap at this point as well.

I've always been one to gice "second chances"!

It's over. Doeren will be named the next coach today. We have one hope....he's become aware of how unpopular his hire would be among the fans and this outweighs his sour relationship with his AD. Hell, everyone else has turned us down so maybe we get lucky.

They will only hire someone Haslam can control. That eliminates both of these men. UT would be lucky to have either of them.

So you're wanting a coach that under-performed at epic levels based on the talent on his roster over a guy that has at least met expectations.

And some wonder why our fan base is made fun of across the nation.

You start looking at them the minute Brohm said no. In my mind Brohm has been the only "realistic" candidate so far in this search. Schiano should have never been on the list and the Gundy move would have been great as the first Sunday offer even if he hadn't accepted. The Gundy turn down would have shown other big name guys like Mullen that UT is willing to fork out some cash and is going to swing big.

We are paying these idiots millions of dollars, entrusting them with a million dollar investment and there are folks like myself who make thousand dollar decisions every day for their companies that could have done better.

There is a complete lack of strategy on the hill and it appears that those guys are just throwing turds at a wall to see if they stick.

If Doeren sleeps on it and says no which I am anticipating that he will, you do not get offered a significant upgrade program and money wise then sleep on it. If his heart was in it we would have accepted yesterday.

Hopefully once he says no these jokers start looking at some decent decisions on guys that would WANT the job and WILL be successufl such as Les Miles, Kevin Sumlin, Lane Kiffin and the ultimate: Tee Martin.

Huh.

Sumlin is owed $10m from Texas A&M because they terminated his contract, that is the liquid damages owed to him via contract. The $10m I believe is due within 60 days of termination, there are no offset or refunds if he gets another job.

Les was terminated last year, and was owed $9m over 6 years by LSU. He must seek employment in good faith and any additional salary is offset and LSU gets money back.

Under neither coaches contract would a school have to help or assist in buying out the coach .... THEY ARE ALREADY UNEMPLOYED.

Your post is really one of the prime examples of why fans, the media, etc. shouldn't be involved in the coach hiring process. Tennessee better stop the leaks and better get the fans out of the hiring process, if they have any hopes of getting a decent coach.
