If a coach hasn't been named by the weekend, then what? This is worse than when Kiffin was hired. All day we've seen names of several coaches mentioned.

It's driving me absolutely crazy.

If you would worry about something like this and aren't already worrying, you probably aren't paying attention.

We will hire someone by sunday IMO, i think maybe even by friday. Hiring a guy by friday would allow the head coach and hopefully his great staff to talk to the visitors this weekend so i would not worry too much just yet my friend. It might not make it to monday. :D

If Kippy Brown says no thank you to the job. We then know that Tennessee football is truly dead.

However, that won't happen. We need to worry when you boyz stop believing!!!

Why don't we just let players coach themselves. Then, recruits wouldn't dislike anything about their coach. That would get us lots of air time on "Outside the Lines" segments too.

7:00 Tuesday night....How in the heck can we go from having a charismatic, young coach (I know, his mouth and his antics were a little too much but still..) with what was looking like a top 3 recruiting class to an old geezer that hasn't been successful anywhere? This is just sickening...

You can not and will not ever be able to convince me that we can't get a better coach than one that was fired from OLE MISS and coaching at Duke. I keep saying this but Alabama paid Saban big bucks to get him there and look how that turned out. There was an article in the B'ham news about that. It said that the 4 million that Saban made this year was less than 1% of the revenue he was responsible for bringing in due to the turnaround of their team. Just sickening to think that we are no more committed to our football program than that!!

We will probably have a realistic shot at .500 next season, unless we hire an out of this world candidate. Make realistic thought processes and it will put mind at ease.

Why not just Kippy a one year deal and see what happens. THat is better than Cut. Kippy has done everything but be a head coach lets just see what would happen. If it worked out it worked out if not we have the whole year to dream up some big names at the right time next year. N0 real coach is going to leave 2 weeks before signing day, on OC OR DC do that, if the head coach would i wouldn't want him

As soon as he is announced as head coach the black cloud that was hovering the football team since the SECCG in 2001 will be right back in place. Cut please stay at Duke, do not come here. You were a great OC for us back in the day, however that day has long since passed. UT needs to move on from that "era"

because the one year deal is giving false hope to everyone.....what goes on during that one year process, a constant search for a new coach? lieing to recruits? misleading articles and forum post, similar to whats going on right this minute?

dont get me wrong, i am not a Kippy hater; however, i do know there is better out there
