At what age do you ...

You make that decision. Personally, 13 is probably too young, but that's my opinion and that's why you should make that decision.

My son is 3 months and for the inane threads I'm thinking about letting him post by banging on the keyboard. Seriously though when he actually understands the game of football and is mature enough not to repeat the occasional off-color joke that comes up then I'll let him post. It'll probably be around 14 or 15.

I think a person's aptitude in reading and writing should be the more decisive factor. If your son is excelling in English/Language Arts, he'd do just fine on this board.

There are times when the grownups playing on this site look like ripe contestants for that Foxworthy show "Smarter Than a 5th Grader".

Can he type out complete words instead of typing in text, that crap tends to aggravate

Does he have basic knowledge and history of our program and former greats of the game

My pet peeves are people who spell receiver wrong
Use the term offence instead of offense, offence means you violated a law
Use the term defence instead of defense, defence is a term for a lawyer representing you in the offence you committed.

As a parent you should accept the fact he will be subjected to bad words from time to time. The battles on here can sometimes become intense and things slip out.

Depending on how you feel about cursing.....You should probably keep him out of most "Football" game threads....and the way the basketball season is going...keep him out of all "basketball game threads". :) That is where all the cursing happens.

That is all dependent on how well he can decipher the stars. ****

heres the checklist for letting him in:
Does he bleed orange?
Does he think Fulmer turned into a bum after the National Championship?
Does he think Fulmer just needs to go away?
Does he wonder why the entire Rivals 100 wouldnt want to sign with the Vols because we are that great?
Does he have a pure and utter hatred for Florida, Georgia, Alabama?
Does he think Rod Wilks is better than Chuck Norris?

If the answer is YES to all those questions.....LET HIM IN.

I don't know about minimum age, but I do know on Cockytalk they have a maximum age limit of 16.

Now I'm thinking about letting him post under two conditions: 1. Mandatory attendance in Hat, BPV and Lofton's "internet posting etique" seminar and MHF's "how to lose your reader before your first sentence" class.

On second thought, I think I'll hold off a couple of years.

My grandson is thirteen and knows more about sports than a lot of people in here. If he was interested in posting in here I would say go at it. The mods do a good job of keeping the board family rated for the most part.

I'm 13 and I've never really had a hard time around here. I think I introduced myself when I first signed up.
