...let your son hit the board? My son is constantly looking over my shoulder, checking out what I'm reading and posting. He knows more about sports than I probably do but I won't let him post. What age do y'all think is most appropriate?

Depends on the kid. Some have something good to say at 12 others never get over the hump and become interlopers.:p

i think it should go by IQ and maturity rather than age. I know some posters on here are grown men, but yet they act like they are still in diapers!!!

It just depends. If you think he'd be a good poster, let him at it whenever. But if you think he'd post anything repetitive, off the wall, whatever that would get the board nazis attacking him, I probably wouldn't.

veeren till he got dismissed, but 13 is reasonable to let him on if you think he can handle it. and you say he knows a lot about sports so as long as he knows what he is talking about i say let him at it

you could like watch what he posts on and about and stuff to make sure he is on topic and what not, but it is atleast worth a try. I know how much i loved UT when i was 5 much less 13 and now 18 and i would have wanted on.

only problem is i only found out about this about a year ago.. (sad, i know)

It's pretty easy to monitor your kid's account on this site. It's all about maturity, not age. I've been hitting message boards since I was 13. I found out about this one awhile ago.

i'm 18 and this is my first post. but hey, i think anybody who really loves the vols should have a chance to spread it around, no matter what age.

Ive got two sons, another on the way, but I don't think I will allow my oldest (9) on here until about 15-16. There are just somethings you dont want your kids to read and I cant police everything. Like tex said, it really depends on the kid. How interested he is, and of course, how mature he acts.
