you just have ta trust that the man (Kiffin) knows what he's doing and have faith in his plan. Its either gonna be an exciting time for the program or an absolute disaster.

He says all the right things and I think he does have a clear vision of what he wants this program to look like.

The only reservation I have is that he is really focusing on an NFL style system and selling that to recruits. He made a statement in his press conference today stating that and I'm paraphrasing here "we all know that they play to get to the NFL" or something like that. I understand that having an NFL style system with NFL caliber coach's is a big selling point with an emphasis on getting them prepared for the NFL. I just hope he does not lose site of the fact that they are student athletes first. After all an education and a degree should be the ultimate goal for these students.

I know there are NCAA minimum graduation rates that have to be met or risk losing scholarships and I'm sure that the staff will make sure they are met.

With that being said, I don't think most people will care one way or another as long as we're winning.

He also said he wished that they based their decision on the school they attended on academics. He said he knew they don't do that, that they usually base their decision on their chances of getting to the NFL.

I think we said what most of us think anyway.

I think we need to get used to the fact that this California guy is going to shoot straight with us hypocritical southerners. We will have to get used to a coach who tells it like it is. I think it is refreshing. He is not going to be a part of the good ole boy system that we like in upper East Tennessee. He came here to win and that is what the Vol Nation wanted. He will win and he will recruit well in the future. I've got a feeling that Knoxville Tennessee will become one of those gateways to the NFL. That door has been cracked in the past, Coach Kiff will just kick it wide open.
