'26 ASU Transfer QB Sam Leavitt (LSU)

Well unless they give the keys to G Mac or Brandon then they have to spend the money. Sam can lead us to playoffs. Missouri QB no chance
I’m not a fan of the Mizzou QB either, but I have a lot of faith in what Heupel can do with his QBs. So if Heupel likes that kid and we can get him for less than $6M, I’m not 100% against it.

Leavitt and his team played this all perfectly. Wait till all the QBs are snatched up in the portal then let the few big money schools left who are desperate for a QB get into a bidding war for your services.

Kid is going to end up with a monster deal.

Or they all move on and the price goes down. But likely the price will be inflated.

It sounds like a bidding war is ongoing

At the end of the day, if it makes sense, and Leavitt is who we have zeroed in on at QB, he will ultimately be ours. Tennessee has shown this time around that they are willing to play ball, and will spend big for a player they truly want. Plus, you have to take into account which situation benefits Leavitt most? I’d venture to say Tennessee, hands down, even bias aside. We have 2 upper echelon SEC WRs at our disposal, and a plug & play freshman in Tristen Keys. Not to mention a hell of a pass catching TE in Ethan Davis. Given how QB friendly of a system we run, I feel pretty good about our chances as long as the money is right. If you fail on locking down Leavitt, then I believe you have to look at guys you can “walk” into the portal. Heupel can’t afford to go into such a pivotal season with the brutal schedule we have with a QB like Pribula. Not saying Pribula isn’t capable of putting up better numbers in a Heupel offense, but he has major deficiencies in the down field passing department that I don’t think can be fixed in less than a year.

Yep, its why a favorable ruling on Joey helps us. Because then we can make a choice on what makes more sense to us.

I’m curious if our offer is in the 4 million range, would we have the other boosters step in and help/outbid

Personally I’m a no. $6 million is a lot and I’d much rather spread that around to other guys. But I also don’t know what our budget is on a QB right now.
Allegedly, there is an angel booster willing to front the money for a QB outside of the existing budget, so whatever is spent on Leavitt (or any other QB) wouldn't theoretically limit what we can spend on other portal targets.
