Am I the only "meh" on this one?

The AC plot lines just don't seem like they'd fit well into the American Revolution... seems like they are running out of ideas to me.

I played AC and ACII, but not the other Ezio games. I want this one so bad, but I'm not in a position to buy it.

I would like to play through the first two again and actually follow the story before getting this one.
