After watching the spring game I think it may be a possibility. We don't have that much there as of right now, if he comes in and can learn the system, I say he atleast gets some playing time. IMO Reveiz is not even close to being the answer, Lathers is a much better option due to him being a better athlete. I think Askew has a pretty good shot at it, just as good or better then any other freshman middle linebacker coming into college.
I am pulling for him
Just because it has happened in the past doesn't mean its going to be like that with every freshman that starts. I'm pulling for whoever the best player is to show himself. Also it might be harder for a freshman to run the Full Monte's defense then in another. MLB is also a hard spot for a freshman to jump into because they are in charge of making the calls and getting everyone else in the right place. I'd like to see the most talented guy on the field but I'd rather have a guy who knows the defense and can make sure it runs better as a unit. If both of those can be achieved with a freshman than start the freshmanI remember a pretty good linebacker that started as a freshman for Florida named Channing Crowder...I dont recal them getting toasted much that season.

I believe Askew will start at mlb next year and eventually be a beast...anyone agree?

Contradiction detected.
Why wouldn't you just pull for whoever deserves to start?
