Ask me your questions about WVU...

I'm telling you, the people that say this is our most talented team ever, are idiots. No disrespect to your family, but that's the case.

Maaaaaybe top to bottom. If you include players that aren't going to play, we MIGHT have the most talented team in our history. But even then, it's extremely doubtful.

i mean, 3 years ago, we had a defense with a 1st round S, a 3rd round CB, a 4th round ILB, and a 6th round S and a DE with 10+ sacks. Offensively, we had an all conference center, a 1500 yard running back and one of the best deep threat receivers in the nation. Now, that isn't the most talented roster we've ever had, but it's likely more talented than the current one.

Now, we do have an All American QB, and that makes up for a lot, but anyone that tells you this is our best roster ever, is projecting.

This. I've lived up here for awhile now, been to numerous wvu games, and surrounded by wvu friends that are fans/homers. There have been much more talented teams in the past. I feel everyone is riding the Grier/Sills hype and correlating that as a whole. There are some deficiencies on this team, especially on D. I just don't buy that two DL transfers makes this D good to above average like I keep hearing. Losing your stud RB from last year hurts too, I'm not sold on the what's there this year.
I truly think your Oline will be whiffing a lot in comparison to the speed we will bring on D.
Almost a week away! I'm heading down with my family and quite a few friends. Will be a great atmosphere win or lose!!

I would offer KU last year as odd as that sounds. I was curious so I watched that game. They put a blocking back in their spread formation then ran at your D. I was kinda embarrassed for you guys myself.

Maybe I'll go back and watch your UMASS game.

Go ahead. And make sure you count on the team being coached that way and playing that way.... and no one is touting UT as a NC contender or claiming this is the best team UT has ever had. And not that it matters except in the relative sense.... but UMass didn't more than triple their average rushing yardage vs UT. Not that anything in the '17 season warrants a lot of pride... but UMass actually had their lowest offensive output vs UT. Seems KU had their highest against you... by around 80 yards.

BUT, BUT, BUT your talent is so much better.

UT has talent. It hasn't been coached well. You can be stupid or you can admit that. There's not a lot of in between. UT is bigger, stronger, and faster than WVU at pretty much every position group. That doesn't make them great players... but it does mean they have more innate talent. You have a good QB.

Stop dude. Just stop.

Why? I thought you wanted to talk about UMass? We can talk about how Jones messed with the heads of the QB's in that game too if you like...

I actually did watch the KU v WVU game. Did you watch the UT v UMass game? Oh, and remind me again how many FBS teams that KU juggernaut beat last year?

Promise me, u will post after the UT-WV game and during the season, so we can can talk about the most talented WV team ever. Bwaa-ha-ha
The boy who started this post is pretty accurate, but I wouldn't say it's the most talented. Don't read one post from one fan and swipe us all with the same paint brush.

Yeah... That KU powerhouse that averaged losing by 29 ppg….

You beat an 0-4 UMASS team.....thump that chest. If you had so much talent like many say here, you should be able to tell the other team what the next play is and you should dominate. Hell, you barely outplayed a sub-tier team.

You’re making it hard not to. You’ve been nothing but arrogant since you started visiting on here. Don’t act like you haven’t either. We’re going to beat WVU’s brains in, watch and see. Please come back and post after the physical beating is complete. Please.

What do you think about the Vols talent level?

I think we are much better than you think talent-wise. Butch was a poor in game coach, but he and his staff did a good job recruiting, and they did so at a pretty high level. 2015- 4th in nation, 2016- 14th, 2017- 17th. Pruitt's first class (2018- 22nd) was strong top to bottom, filled a lot of needs, and he brought in several highly ranked transfers at key positions like center, TE and RB. We have have 3 former 5 five stars in Trey Smith (best offensive lineman in FBS), Jonathon Kongo, and Kyle Phillips.. and thirty+ 4 star players on roster, several being highly ranked 4 stars.

We are better at some positions than WVU: O-line, secondary, kicker, and RB. I'd say WVU has the advantage at QB and WR, and that's about it.

I honestly think our backs London, Chandler, and Jordan are going to run all over and down the throat of the WVU defense. And WVU will have to respect JG's arm, he has a cannon. And while everyone is hyping up Greir.. let's not forget JG was the # 1 dual threat in the nation out of high school, and just shy of a 5 star. He is very talented and can run. This year he has a line to protect him (if we stay healthy).

I think our defensive speed, and special teams is really going to shock WVU. I think the Vols win 27-14.

And that's what's gonna really sting for weeks after the game if the best team in the history of WV loses with the greatest qb to ever play the game.

My bad, all u WV fans kinda post alike. But anyway, although I'm predicting a Vol victory, I do think u all have a talented team, especially on offense. I used to kinda like WV, but u have single handedly, made me despise 'em. I really wanted that Major Harris led team to go undefeated and win a NC. But once again, that was before I met u. Just make sure u post after UT ruins your season after that first game, please.

LOL@U. UT didn't get trucked by one of the worst rushing offenses in the country. Oh, UMass actually ended up beating a couple of FBS opponents. How about KU? What's that... one FBS win in the last 3 years? And it wasn't like WVU's players were stumbling over their own feet like UT's were (finally leading to the end of Jones)… KU lined up and ran right down WVU's throat.

You know, maybe the smartest thing for everyone concerned would be for the SEC and B12 to simply swap. We get the Mountaineers, and they can have Mizzou. Everyone fits better, everyone's happier, and we don't even have to juggle around the divisions of the SEC. It just fits.

And there’d likely also be a significant drop in money from the SEC Network when its deal would be immediately renegotiated.

The Big 12 question is polarizing topic for WVU fans. Some like it, some don't, but it sure is a hell of a lot better than the AAC. I think all Mountaineers would agree though that one day they would like to see WVU play in an eastern football conference (ACC, SEC)

Both pretty much turned them down during the expansion/realignment period, unfortunately. Their best chance at an ACC membership might have been had the Big 12 extended its 10th invitation to Louisville rather than WVU (they would have pretty much been left as the ACC’s only choice after Maryland left for the Big 10).

Grier rarely makes a bad read. He rarely makes a bad throw. He gets the ball out quick.

WVU 45 Vols 24

Think your Blue and Yellow glasses affected your brain when typing that one. When Grier was at UF he made plenty of bad reads and passes, he just made some good ones too that made up for it.

If UT opens the #PruittEra with a 21 point ass kicking I'm not even logging on here for a few days.
