At home or a restaurant?
I prefer making my own cocktail sauce, but it's one of those things that I don't use often and I don't always have all the ingredients needed to make it, so I keep a jar in the fridge. If you like it the way I do, you can't beat "McCormick Cocktail sauce for Seafood made with real horseradish Extra Hot". It's the real deal IMO.
As far as shrimp cocktail, I like to use bay leaf, whole black peppercorns and lemon.
what's the first thing your making with the ghost peppers?
That's a good question that I've put some thought into lately. When I first thought about growing these stupid hot peppers, it was just for the novelty.
I've never tasted just the pepper by itself, only in a cheese. After I taste it, I'll decide what I want to use for a vehicle. As of now, I'm thinking I want it to be a major player in my new "Best BBQSauce in the world" recipe.I also made some creme fraiche earlier this week and thought, hmmmm.
Just depends on the flavor.
