Hi Behr, new to the thread. :hi:

Question: where in the heck can you buy fresh lima beans? (Not this time of year obviously) I never see them in stores, even the foo-foo stores (Earth Fare, Publix etc)

My former MIL used to buy them at a roadside stand on her way to Carolina beaches, but I've never seen them for sale in WNC. Am I doomed to frozen limas?

I love fresh limas, dammit.

First of all, what are your thoughts on Mac & Chez.

Mele Kalikimaka To you all!

Enjoy your Families, Friends and Food.

We all eat. It would be a wasted opportunity, to eat badly.

Umm, would be improved by using a different type of pasta? In a cast iron skillet? And somehow Dr. Pepper? And apparently jalapeños and sriracha?

I'm reading through the thread and am somewhere in 2013. I think. Oh Lawd, I hope I remember where I left off... :eek:hmy:

Nice!

I was hoping someone else would offer their advice or opinion on the Lima bean question.

I don't use them, except for personal consumption and usually use dry.

I suggest if you really want fresh, I would check out a local farmers market and ask someone there what your options are for that area. They might be able to get them for you, or steer you in the right direction.

Nothing beats fresh, as you know, but if you add enough love, I know you can make even canned work just fine. I'm not advising to use canned, just making a point.:)

Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hau'oli Makahiki Hou to you, Behr.

Hope you had a good one Sly, good to see you here. VolNExile's post got me curious, so I went back and spent about an hour reading this thread. Had a few laughs, realized I used to drink too much and had a few "wtf was I thinking" moments but, oh well, there were some good internet times.

Oh, I was also curious as to who all posted and who had posted the most in here. Obviously Ive posted the most (2038) then Volly (619) you (386) and Hman (344).
Evidently I had a lot to say.:loco:

Thanks. I'm in and out lately. Mostly out. Made the best chicken soup ever Friday night. Wish I knew what I did.:hi:
