You have to realize that fans, Tennessee or otherwise, are part of the general population.

Many people in the general population want to be wealthy but don't want to work, want to be education but not study, want to be lean but not exercise, etc. These are personality traits for people with a feeling of entitlement and little or no perseverance. These people generally have a negative outlook in many aspects of life. The same holds true of fans.

You can choose to persevere and support the players and coaches that willfully chose to represent our University and give them the best opportunity and support to succeed (regardless of whether or not you agree 100% with all the decision made) or you can choose to be negative and affect the budget by not showing up, morale by not cheering (or booing), etc.

Some of these negative people are fans of our team. I'd like to think they are in the minority. Unfortunately, we see more posts from them and they have more time to moan and complain because they aren't working, studying or exercising.

Just got back from Gatlinburg. Not being negative but it was a sea of crimson. Tennessee fans were being slightly heckled. Watch the stands after the second half and try to stay positive.

I will not allow many on this VolNation to change my love, hope and passion for Tennessee. I joined here only a few years ago hoping to engage with good, positive encouraging fans, instead many here are whiney, negative, discouraging quitters. I don't want or need you negative, discouraging quitters in my Fox Hole. Every Saturday for as long as I can remember, I want Tennessee to win as much as any player, coach or fan. I was at Mississippi St. last week and until the fourth quarter was over i was wanting and hoping for a win. Our team we cheer for did not quite. I walked out of that stadium, dressed proudly in my Orange & White with the pride of a Real Tennessee Fan knowing I have something they will never have,"Its Great To Be A Tennessee Vol". No matter what happens Saturday, the rest of the year or in the future I will be proud of those young men, Coach Dooley and his staff because they wear Orange & White. Many on here shold be ashamed of yourselves that you have turned your back like cowards on the greatest team to be a fan of, TENNESSEE. Take off your Orange & White, I don't need you in my Fox Hole. Working, studying and exercising? Absolutely the most incoherent gibberish strung together on a keyboard. In the real world if someone continually fails to meet expectations they are replaced. Where I "work" if a manager is not performing I meet with them, reset expectations and if those are not met we move on. Nothing different here. I am sure following the UK game such a meeting occurred and now Hart has a decision to make.

He's a licensed funeral director/embalmer. Then at 26 he decided he wanted to go into the army as a medic. Proud doesn't describe what I feel (he's my step-son, but I wear a Proud Mom shirt ). But scared at the same time.

Don't be scared mam. I'm sure he loves you very much but more importantly he knows you love him as I know my parents wife and daughter love me when I'm deployed. last I checked, none of us stand to financially gain from UT's play on the field. Therefore, why would we as fans need to treat it like a business. I don't pull for Microsoft, Exxon or Chrysler, so why would I treat a sport like a business. Our AD can and should do that, but we as fans need not.

Not saying a change may not be needed, but today this is who we have. Maybe the talent of players is not where it needs to be. Maybe the coaching needs a change, not an expert I don't know. I am saying this is Tennessee and it will always have my full support. If a change does come it will have my full support, for this is Tennessee. I live and die with the Vols every week, just like everyone else on this board. We consider ourselves VFLs, alumni and part of UT, but at the very basis of our relationship with Tennessee we are customers. When you fly over a university you see what its priorities are. When you fly over Harvard you can see the steps to the library. When you fly over UT you see one of the largest football stadiums in North America. Besides providing educational services, UT generates millions of dollars in secondary income by selling its football program. Apathy is necessary for change, otherwise how will the business know the customer base is displeased with the product provided? UT charges a premium for their football, and it's time they provide a premium product.
