People and these threads are ridiculous i support the players and the coaches because i love the vols but do not particularly care for some of the coaches and Dooley..... most fans griping feel the same way

Congrats Vollygirl. Advanced Individual Training will help him grow. Having spent 9 years in the Army and getting out after the first Iraq war, I don't think many care for war even if it is a neccesity. I wish him the best in his military career

You are right that we all want vols to win. The only issue is that some people (those who we call negavols) only see W's and L's as sign of success or failure while the other side (myself included) think that given how low the program has fallen before Dooley arrived it's important to look at overall progress or lack of it. To me there is no doubt there is massive progress from last year in many areas (but also it's fair to point out that defense seems much worse than last year).

This is where I disagree. There has been some progress in some areas. Thus far the run game comes to mind but not much else. There should be some improvement by the mere fact that our players are a year older and have more experience and had another year in the weight room. I think we are treading water at best and have regressed on defense. I look at it this way. Will we be better off a year or two from now with Dooley and when I look at the slight progress (debatable whether we've had a net gain there) along with recruiting (compared to upper half of the SEC) and the fact that we continue to make boneheaded mistakes on the field I don't see us getting substantially better.

Wrong. Most of the negavols are VFL. The're tired of losing each Saturday to teams that we don't need to be losing to. The're just showing the frustration & impatience of this football team to start winning again. Dooley is the one that said "You won't have TN to kick around anymore". He got the fan base all jacked up at the Media Days in Birmingham. We're waiting for him & his staff to prove that statement this year & he has fallen flat on what he said. All this can go away once this program turns the corner of finding a way to WIN again. These "negavols" that you speak of will be there tomorrow, next week & next year just like you will be cheering on our team to win. Most of these negavols do use VFL because they do mean it.

Great for him... and I sincerely mean that. I am retired Army, and I spent a week in the hospital at Keesler AFB, MS in August. The doctors, nurses, technicians, and "medics" were absolutely outstanding. I am proud to have served in our military... and I am equally proud of the young men and women who serve today. Blessings on our military servicemembers. GO VOLS!!!

You don't get to dictate what people think and say, or whether they are a "real" fan or not. Now go back to your coach and remote...flip it back over to your show, Dr. Phil, and cry a tear or two.

Many of us wanted the Budget Rental hire, Dooley, to actually work out. Few expected it to and all evidence to this point indicates we are correct in that assessment. We just want to get the problem fixed. Period. That's what it all boils down to. Some peole are inclined to have more patience with him than others. That's the issue at hand. Many of us have seen enough...even after the UK loss.

These people generally have a negative outlook in many aspects of life. The same holds true of fans.

You can choose to persevere and support the players and coaches that willfully chose to represent our University and give them the best opportunity and support to succeed (regardless of whether or not you agree 100% with all the decision made) or you can choose to be negative and affect the budget by not showing up, morale by not cheering (or booing), etc.

Some of these negative people are fans of our team. I'd like to think they are in the minority. Unfortunately, we see more posts from them and they have more time to moan and complain because they aren't working, studying or exercising.
