Let us Chill!!!
I know, that was corny as hell, but we have to stay cool right now.
Things didn't go as planned today and there are several reasons why and most of them were out of Pruitt's hands
1) The ineptitude of the previous 2 staffs. This has caused a decade of negativity surrounding the program. Kids have grown up seeing Tennessee losing and having coaches that were the laughing stock of CFB
2) Extremely inept administration. Morons that were responsible for hiring the 2 previous coaches. The idea that you could buy cheap and win big in the SEC was a fools hope. Then bumbling the new coaching hire to the point it looked like the morons in the UT AD were going to do it again, making more people see the ineptness on display at the University of Tennessee
3) 0-8 in the SEC and 4-8 overall. Both, all-time worst records for UT football. Recruits are going to have to see what Pruitt can do to improve on this before they take a chance on him. Players are no different than fans, they want to win and win now. UT is too risky right now and some are not dedicated enough to build a winner.
I am willing to give him a pass this year. Next year should see an improvement in recruiting. If not, then we might need to start panicking then.
