Let us Chill!!!

I know, that was corny as hell, but we have to stay cool right now.

Things didn't go as planned today and there are several reasons why and most of them were out of Pruitt's hands

1) The ineptitude of the previous 2 staffs. This has caused a decade of negativity surrounding the program. Kids have grown up seeing Tennessee losing and having coaches that were the laughing stock of CFB

2) Extremely inept administration. Morons that were responsible for hiring the 2 previous coaches. The idea that you could buy cheap and win big in the SEC was a fools hope. Then bumbling the new coaching hire to the point it looked like the morons in the UT AD were going to do it again, making more people see the ineptness on display at the University of Tennessee

3) 0-8 in the SEC and 4-8 overall. Both, all-time worst records for UT football. Recruits are going to have to see what Pruitt can do to improve on this before they take a chance on him. Players are no different than fans, they want to win and win now. UT is too risky right now and some are not dedicated enough to build a winner.

I am willing to give him a pass this year. Next year should see an improvement in recruiting. If not, then we might need to start panicking then.

If these coaches can coach, we'll be aight. I think the early signing period seriously takes the shine off of NSD, and it really made this one seem bad for us.

hard to be a fan with so many DA making decisions, as long as a haslem has his greasy paws on the program, its doomed

I agree with this. Could have been better. But it could have definitely been worse. I think for what we lack in talent now we will make up for in coaching ability. The tables have sort of flipped somewhat. We used to have all the talent in the world, but coaching ability wasn’t there. I’ll take a good coach with mediocre players alllll dayyyyy longggg over a stacked roster with Private Pyle steering the boat.

We gone be fine.

Regarding #2.

They hired cheap again and it showed today going with an unproven coach. Apparently the national title rings didn't cause recruits to swoon like some thought they would on here.

Agree on cutting him some slack for a year but they better be some really good teachers and get their systems implemented quickly.

GA is quickly leaving the Vols in the dust and Mullen rebounded nicely at FL with a better class.

With all due respect. We will not sniff an SEC Title with mediocre players. I don't care if Bellicheck, Nick, Tom Landry, Bill Walsh, and Neyland's ghost show up on staff this Spring.

Just a thought, I live 500 miles from Knoxville and have no insider information. All of this is pure speculation.

What if we struggled today because we did not have enough seedy characters in our corner. You know the types of guys that have bags full of money and willing to cheat. They also have minions to hand recruits money. Has anyone watched the Flying J trial? Haslam seems like a guy willing to do such a thing! Haslam is probably pissed at the whole fiasco and how fans really turned on him so he is not willing to do the dirty work?

What do y'all think?

BTW This is not a ploy to get Haslam back. I think we just need time to get our ducks in a row.

I think Tennessee did remarkably well, finishing 20th after going 4-8 with no conference wins. Our cards were on the table and we didnt exactly have a royal flush.

aight is like his mantra....every time he speaks I get out my clicker to count them. Surely we have to take this and make it into something during games, like a chant. After every sack and int.

Tennessee did have a good class. Very solid and CJP said we may not be done. If Butch were still here we would have never gotten Peterson. We definitely would have never even gotten visits from guys like ITS, Walker, Griffin or Campbell.

The early signing period, our horrible season and the playoffs really presented a 100% unique situation for Pruitt. He definitely turned chicken **** into chicken salad today.

— I agree. Kids are kids. They don’t know from tradition; they know what they’ve seen the past few years, and that’s what they’re basing their decisions on. And who can blame them?

Results on the field, even if they’re not all wins, are what will bring recruits in the next few years.

I really don't care for the early signing period. Made yesterday not as much fun. Wasn't fun for Vol fans anyway but i liked things the way they were.

As I've said numerous times I wish they would eliminate signing day altogether. If a kid has made up his mind and the school is ready to accept his letter, then he should be able to sign whenever he wants to
