As far as my rooting allegiances go, the SEC is essentially a 10 team conference. I like to see the SEC do well, but I simply cannot bring myself to wish any good upon the gators or Bammers.

As an OU graduate who married into a UT family, you have to consider that Boomer Sooner is 2nd behind Rocky Top in the songs that drive your competitors crazy category. For that reason alone, pull for the Scarlett and Cream!

C'mon man, Tebow is a good person not just a great player.

Personally I am glad that Bama didn't beat Florida. I don't want Florida to lose to anyone but UT. I want the VOLS to be the ones to knock off Florida and take over as the top dawgs the SEC

I think that Bradford will frustrate Florida (he is going to get rid of the ball very quickly) and that Stoops will have his defense ready. I still wonder if it will be enough.

Since UT needs to recruit nationally it helps the VOLS in prestige and recognition for the SEC to show that they are the best conference in the country. Even though we're aren't bowling this year if Florida wins the MNC it helps UT. Players see that to play against the best helps their NFL chances. If the Gators win, it also gives the conference that respect that could help Tennessee in the future.... a la LSU with 2 losses last year. Look at what happened to Penn State, after 1 very close loss they were out of the MNC picture with NO way to get back into it. The SEC gets the benefit of the doubt because of the perceived strength of our conference. So in the end I want Florida to represent and kick Zero U's teeth in.

With all of that said....If the tide had won the SEC....I.....I........I.........wouldn't want them to win the MNC........I just couldn't...

Very good point.

It's also important to note that the Big 10 has failed to represent in the big bowl games over the past few years. This has certainly hurt their recruiting prospects against other conferences.

I hate on Bama, UGA, USC, UF, etc, etc all season long. But it IS in the best interest of the SEC - and UT - that we dominate at bowl time.

We don't have to celebrate their victory. But I'd rather pad the conference stats than rejoice in a Bama or Florida loss. Either way, UT is just watching from the sidelines.

Big 10 is perceived to be weak and rightfully so. The second best team got absolutely destroyed against their only decent non-conference foe and nearly lost to an absolutely terrible MAC team. Then you've got the Badgers, who needed overtime to defeat Cal-Poly. The Big 10 is absolutely awful. Penn State's inability to run through that schedule undefeated means they deserve nothing.

VR - Interesting prediction.

I do believe FL will have a hard time with Okie's O. However, I don't think Oklahoma is used to playing against solid D's. Big 12 has been a high scoring conference all year long - with OU showing the way.

I'd place my money on FL based on the D heavy SEC and their recent experience at the big dance.

It's going to be a great game to watch.

All this SEC talk is ridiculous. Florida playing in, let alone winning a NC only serves to HURT my beloved Vols. If any of you think that by UF winning helps UT - your sadly mistaken; great recruits want to play for champions. How much has USC's dominance over the Pac 10 helped UCLA? How has Ohio States success in the Big 10 helped Michigan? Yeah... It hasn't - at all.

Seriously, would the same people who are pulling for UF pull for bama? Pretty unlikely. I pulled for a sinkhole and alot of injuries in the SECCG but since that didn't happen I was forced to take more pleasure in watching bama lose. I will root for UF to be blown out on the national stage.

Die hard Vol fans could never pull for bama or the gators to succeed at anything.
