What would distract you more at the free throw line

Noise...fans waving thier arms etc.

Standing there in complete silence?

Probably the complete silence, and maybe that lone cricket chirping somewhere in the stands.

I remember back when I played and we would go up against some pretty crazy fans and when I was at the line it was amazing because I could literally tune them out to the point where I was oblivious to their existence.

I would have to vote for the silence only because it adds implied pressure of everyone just staring at you. With the noise you still have the same pressure but it's not your focus.

Did anyone see in the UCLA- Arizona game this past weekend, that a couple of people in the AZ student section had big spinning hypnosis circles? That would def. screw me up...

ive always wondered about this. why dont people behind the goal cheer and wave their hands, whatever, as loud as they can until right before the guy gets ready to shoot. then, dead silence. you know the guy would get freaked out.

Or does anybody remember I can't remember if it was last year or the year before that when the person sounded the buzzer that's for subs when somebody was in the middle of their shot

If you coordinate it, complete silence with everyone's arms to the right, then right before he releases, everyones swings there arms to the left...or just boobs

some of the junk behind the backboard can definitely mess with depth perception.

I remember at the Florida game last year in TBA the PA announcer announced a foul or something just as we were shooting FT's.

I remember a game on the road back in high school where the gym was mostly quiet and then right as I started my free throw motion, an old man, about 70 just started screaming curse words at me.
Needless to say, I missed the first free throw while I tried not to laugh. He continued the practice every time one of our players went to the free throw line. Haha that's probably the most effective distraction I ever dealt with.
