The joe schmo goes to prison and the celebrity gets Betty Ford and probation. That type of thing breeds jealousy and discontent among those who live under the system. IMO Biddle is just pointing out that the disparity in punishments here appears to indicate favoritism for "important" players.

Starting MLB gets arrested for an altercation involving police at a location where the team has been told not to go by CPF himself. Starting MLB is also a fifth year Sr. who is probably 22-23 years and should know better.
Redshirt freshman, 19-20 years old, has a prior curfew violation and says something lewd to some woman and her daughter at the mall, not very couth but certainlly not illegal and probably protected by the First Amendment for civil purposes.
To anyone with a brain that is not stored in a bone receptacle residing in PF's rectum it is pretty clear which of these is the worse offense.

Nice try but that is nowhere near what I posted. As I said, that type of behaviour is not couth. Please read my entire post before you make another libelous misrepresentation regarding me. I also find it laughable that just because I choose not to worship at the alter of the orange cow you resort to insulting me. YES getting arrested for a verbal altercation with police is worse than making insulting remarks to someone becasue one of those courses of conduct is a CRIME.(VolBeef88 @ May 4 said:But then again look who I'm talking to. You probably see no problem with a guy being rude and disrespectful you a little girl.

Also, telling someone, "I'll kick your *ss," is a far cry from actually doing it. If Mitchell is suspended for any games, it will surprise me.

Lets remind this writer that James Banks was a play of significant importance that was kicked off the team.

"Hey Marvin, you had a little too much to drink. Not enough to get a public intox. You made a threatening comment, although not enough to get charged with assault. However, when the Knoxville Police Officer told you to leave Rocky Top, you told him where he can stick it. Marvin, I know that at other universities, kids are getting arrested for theft, sexual assault, assault and battery, and brandishing a firearm. I also understand that this is your first altercation of any kind. However, I do not feel like going to bat for you and instead will just suspend you for our first 3 games...it is not like we have stiff competition those first 3 weeks anyway."--CPF
You're right.(therealUT @ May 4 said:Humiliating the university?
Baylor was humiliated by the scandal concerning the basketball team.
Duke was embarrassed by their lacrosse team.
I do not believe that Marvin Mitchell, a 21 year old adult, being out at 3:30 am, during the offseason mind you, and being involved in a dispute with a police officer (that will most likely never be heard in a courtroom) qualifies as humiliation for UT.
