Article says Tennessee should get the death peanlty

I would think that most UT haters would be satisfied with their pound of flesh after the Pearl dismissal. Apparently not. The idea that an athletics department should get the death penalty when players aren't systematically being paid or having their grades fixed is nonsense. I know that Hamilton probably caused the 30-point loss against Michigan with his ill-timed comments, but at least no journalist--no legitimate journalist-- can say that is the reason Pearl got fired. This guy is a liar and a spinner.

so you're saying that a Final Four appearance would not have outweighed giving extra tickets to a player???? I tend to agree with the argument that if Pearl were playing in the Final Four this year, he would not have been fired.

speaking of being biased, is it any surprise that a column wishing ill will on UT is not well received on a UT message board? Come on... Plus, for those reference SMU, I interpreted his article not as recommending the NCAA issue the death penalty to UT and OSU, but that the fear that it could happen would be a major deterrent. Knowing that the worst case scenario is, in actuality, not the worst case scenario does little to curtail cheating.... I think he is right.

Mike Bianchi is as big of a jerk as one can cram into a 5' 6" round rolly polly lil body.

He has never played a minute of organized ball on any level in any sport!

If running your mouth could win medals for the track team, he would have a drawer full.

I live in Florida and used to take the Orlando paper. I stopped my subscription the week he printed a rant about Lane Kiffin bringing Daniel Hood into the team. He went on and on for a full ppage about it. It was an absoultely incredible article and he should have had his ass stomped into dust for his take on that set of events. So, I am no longer a reader of that little jerk Mike Bianchi.

We should all follow up and send emails to his editor and maybe we can do something about his sorry ass.

Thanks for listening. And thats all I have to say about that!

"Could it be the Tigers figured out that the school's first national championship in more than a half-century is worth the price of a few scholarship sanctions from the toothless NCAA?" You can tell he doesn't understand what life in the state of Alabama like lol. But really you know what the funny thing is about this post The Gators never come up and we wonder why.

Add this to Mike bianchi:

Here is a little more insight on Mike Bianchi. And it goes with my earlier post. I simply Google’d his name and another name or two and here it is for all the world to read and it will never go away. I remembered it from when he first printed this garbage in July 2009. I thought I might cut and paste some of his rant in, but thought otherwise as it needs to be over. But if you want to see how really bad that jerk is, just Google it and you will easily find it.

The moment I saw it was in the Orlando Sentinel, I knew it was from that effin' Gator homer Bianchi.

No worries, he's a known tool that has ZERO credibility.

Move along, nothing to see here except a complete moron trying to stir the pot.

If he wants to see someone get the death penalty, it should be his beloved Gators with their 30+ arrests over the past 4 seasons...

What a waste of ink and paper! A better article would be one on why NCAA will never hand down the death penalty ever again in any college sports after the way that SMU football was totally decimated in the 70's.

Its was the late 80's.

And its Death Penaltied two schools since SMU - Moorehouse Women's Soccer and MacMurray College Tennis.

And SMU was so incredibly bad, it might death penalty something similar - Auburn is close but, being a big State school they have a lot more protection and aren't running a slush fund they have already been put on probation for.

Not that they aren't possibly running a slush fund.

And Bianchi is just stirring up trouble because he isn't a good enough journalist to keep his job any other way.

They should resurrect the death penalty for idiotic journalist...jmo.

Hmmmmmmmm, didn't Meyer quit? You know, a quitter, because he could no longer rely on his assistants to cover for his inability to coach. It's still hilarious that Meyer had to apoligize for NOT being able to blow us out in 2009 under Kiffin. I've never seen a coach before apoligize for winning even if it was only a 10 point win at the swamp. How funny is that?:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

AU has not done anything that EVERY other SEC school has or is doing. Believing anything else is a result of mild retardation. There are two types of athletic programs, ones that have been caught cheating and ones that haven't.

This article is sensationalism at it's finest. A stupid, outlandish article to get the masses all fired up... Bianchi wins by creating controversy, irrespective of the quality or accuracy of it's content.

If the guy is from Florida thats great! It shows that we are on our way back to the top. The only way I'm happy is if every other state school hates us I'm tired of them feeling sorry for us or looking at us as Vandy's older brother WE ARE TENNESSEE!:):)

For Auburn, I can understand, because the whole issue that surrounds their football program is reported incidents of pay for play. Now for Tennessee basketball thats just harsh. I mean yeah Pearl lied, but there has been much worse done in the past.

Fixed something there.

"The same with Tennessee's basketball program, which allowed Bruce Pearl to coach all season despite the fact he broke rules and lied to the NCAA about it. Pearl was only fired after he lost by 30 points in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. If the Vols were playing in the Final Four this weekend, he'd still be coaching and Tennessee would likely be preparing a contract extension for him to sign."

What this moron fails to understand is Pearl was fired before the 30 point beat down.

The guy had to do something to get recruits to come to Tennessee,I mean with Duke,NC,Louiville,Vandy,Florida,Kentucky, and all the other top notch BB schools vying for the top recruits, how the Hell are we supposed to get them to come to UT,give Pearl a freaking break!!!!!!!!!!!!
