Large man, long road: UT's 400-pound recruit disproving skeptics | Nooga.com. His coach said Teams didn’t run the inside zone (run) on us this year,” Williams said. “They either ran into him or had to use two to block him and the linebacker was free You think A.j and company was good last year with a year under there belts with depth and experience behind this guy we could be near the top 10 in total defense this year.

I'm insanely excited after reading the article. I loved the part about him chasing down an outside zone play and making the tackle for a loss, from the backside DE position.

How much will this guy be able to stay on the field? You would think someone this big would need lots of breaks.

If you check out the article, his old coach claims he is only 25% fat and is in pretty good shape.

Even calls him a 3 down player.

That would be amazing at his size, I wouldn't expect that though.

If he can play half the snaps on defense I would be happy.

Only 25 percent body fat? That's a high percentage. Color me a skeptic. He's tall and really heavy, and will be facing MUCH better O-linemen than he ever has before. I'll be curious to see how fit he is, and how strong; and if he can play somewhat low (for pad leverage). If he can't play low, even at 400 pounds he could be on his heels a lot. I hope he's good--but right now he's nothing but big.

25% body fat when you weigh 400 lbs is 100 lbs of body fat. Hope he can play with these quick, strong SEC o-lines.

That's 300Lbs of non-fat though. I think he will be fine, actually, I think he will excel.

I don't care how quick they are, they still have to move him if they plan on running through either A gap.

For his size that's not high at all. You can be perfectly healthy and quite thin at around 15%.

Hard not to be excited about all that. Don't put too much stock in the 25% body fat comment either way as the folks at GMC don't have access to any methods to accurately assess body composition on a guy 6'7" and over 350lbs.

16-24% is considered average. To be almost 400lbs and barely over average is not bad at all. Plus CRM with his 100 rep workouts, should help him shed that in no time.

No matter what his endurance level may be, he will most likely force a double team or force teams to run outside. If we are going to a 3-4 this will be ideal for our D. Good prospect right there.

Lack of a quality defensive line for the last 5 years or so is the single biggest reason this team has suffered. You HAVE to control the line on both sides of the ball to win in the SEC. This guy gives us a chance we haven't had in years. Hope he can stay healthy.

Are people really complaining about McCullers? The #6 rated JUCO in the country, a 5.9 4star DT on rivals. The FB forum never ceases to amaze me lol
