Waiting until signing day? This could be the begining of a terrible QB trend, Don't most of them announce before their senior year starts?

I'm not too thrilled about having to wait until signing day though, that will hurt in recruiting skill position players.

He better not wait till NSD if he wants some decent people blocking for him and a good group to throw to.. Come on Bray we would love to have you as a VOL!

I honestly dont think he will wait until signing day.... with that said I dont really know anything about him other than he jumped the gun on the SDSU offer. When he sees Neyland with 100000+ he will crap his pants and commit that weekend..jmho

maybe kiffin wont wait on him..kiffin knows we need people now,and cant afford to wait on one recruit.

With the luck we've been having recruiting a top notch QB, I don't know that Kiffin can afford to be too picky :(

Either you want to be on the Lane Train or not. Either you want to be a VOL or you dont. Either you want to play at National Championship Contender School (which we will be soon enough again) or you dont.

What say you Bray

The kids sounds great and would love to have him. However, I hope CLK tells him how much we want him but we are only going to sign one more QB and with you saying you are not going to announce until NSD we are going to be forced to continue looking. If we pick up another QB commitment during this time then we won't be able to honor our offer to you!
Lets him know we need him on board now but leaves the ball in his court.

I think after his official visit, he's all Vol....Unless we have another top guy by then. Also, I know I'm not a recruiting guru by any means, but I think he looks sort of goofy when he drops back. Something about him just seems unnatural, but if the coaches like him, then I like him.

just because we've missed on a few players doesn't mean we should lower our standards...i want kiffin to get a qb that he thinks will be successful not settle for a scrub just to have a body.

I wasn't saying that we should lower standards, and I'm not trying to be negative. What I'm saying is that we've had terrible luck with it so far, hopefully our luck changes, but with Bray claiming he's not commiting until NSD I don't think we'll be pulling any top notch QB's anytime soon.

I would love it if my prediction is wrong!

Yeah I would go after someone else if he is going to play that silly game

Miami is right.

I would allow him to wait until he takes his visit to Knoxville when we play UCLA. If he fails to commit after his visit, then we immediately go elsewhere and his offer is pulled from the table. He can't be allowed to hold all the cards until February 2010.

If he has as much potential as this articles claims he does then yes he can. I doubt you are still bitter about BB, Oku, or Jackson and they all went past NSD. This is an important decision for the kid and he is getting into the process late. Can't blame him for wanting to take his time to figure out if he wants to travel 2,000 miles to spend the next 4 years of his life.

They would not be all dramatic and pull ties lol. They just stop calling as much. It is subtle when they back off.

BB, Oku, and Jackson are completely different situations. Unlike other positions, QBs commit early...If we were only going to sign one RB, then I doubt that we would turn a #5 RB down in the hopes that a #1 would sign with us late.

The QBs will be almost completely gone by February and if Bray doesn't sign with us, then we won't get anyone we want. Other QBs are unlikely to be willing to accept an offer contingent on Bray going to another school. They want to have the feeling that they are wanted. Telling these other QBs that we want them only if Bray goes elsewhere won't cut it.

I know we have some brilliant tape watchers and qb analysts much more qualified than I to discuss this, but if this kid is a good decision maker under duress (which is often overlooked but is THE determinant of college QB quality), he will be a beast of a QB.

I never was high on this kid...he seems like a punk from his MySpace page, commits to a small program, SDSU, while trying to show up at all the camps he can this summer, then when he finally gets an offer from a Major program...a traditional powerhouse in the SEC, with a wide open roster stituation...what does he do? Says he'll wait until NSD.

This shows how bright he is, and I doubt he's the kind of hard working, high-character guy Peyton was. I never wanted him, and his recent comments solidify that position in my mind.

I'd like to have this kid, but he seems a little goofy to me. Um, I hate to break it to him, but he's already NOT waited until NSD. He's committed already.

He did remove ridiculous quote. I am not turned but it is a beginning. Next, he needs to hit gym and party less.
