Arrow

Thoughts on the finale? Hope the ending doesn't mean more with this news!

'Arrow': John Barrowman Promoted to Series Regular for Season 3

So he supposedly faked being dead in Season 1 I guess after Arrow stabbed him through with the arrow? I never really asked this question before I don't think.

I thought it was pretty good. Cool fight sequence in the tunnel with everyone involved. Wish Oliver and Slade's fight sequence had been more drawn out, but I liked the flashback overlap going on. Solid finale to the season and can't wait for it to come back on. The Flash teaser was pretty neat as well.

I thought those "flashback" scenes were awful and poorly done. I literally was trying to figure out why the hell they were fighting inside, then suddenly on top of oil tankers, then suddenly fighting in the street. I honestly thought someone had seriously screwed up epiclly in the editing room.

The only other complaint I have is that I don't buy Thea suddenly becoming a villain. It simply isn't in her imo or at least the actor didn't convince me.

Aside from those two things overall the finale was good. I wonder what it means for Olliver now that Isabel is dead if anything? It seems like to continue his efforts he needs the R&D and funding from the Queen fortune.

Growing up, I was much more a Marvel fan than I was a DC fan. That said, DC has so many characters that lend themselves toward TV. Seriously, I think if I were a TV exec, I could probably come close to doing an entire network of shows based off of DC characters and concepts. It would all come down to matching the right writers with the right shows.

TV channel would be DCHD. :)

It wouldn't surprise me if Stan Lee was already working on something like this for Marvel. Though the movie route is always more profitable if done right.

Marvel characters work better with a movie template IMO, but DC characters do better with a TV template. I think it's because Marvel characters were generally more fleshed out and defined, while many DC characters lacked clear definition.

Of course with the birth of the retcon, I think a lot of that has changed.

The New 52 version of her costume would look awesome on Arrow!

Devon Aoki Joins CW’s ‘Arrow’

Devon Aoki (Sin City) has landed a major recurring guest role on the hit CW drama Arrow from Warner Bros TV. Aoki will play Tatsu Yamashiro, a character that first appeared in the Green Arrow origin series graphic novels published by DC Comics. She is a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, a blade from which her codename Katana is derived.

In Arrow, Tatsu will be one of Oliver’s mentors in the flashbacks and a critical influence on his journey to eventually become The Arrow of present day. Aoki, repped by Schiffco, appeared in features including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Sin City, D.E.B.S. and War.

This is crazy!!

Brandon Routh Back In Superhero Mode, Will Play The Atom On ‘Arrow’

Brandon Routh Back In Superhero Mode, Will Play The Atom On ‘Arrow’

Brandon Routh, who played Superman on the big screen in Bryan Singer’s 2006 tentpole Superman Returns, has joined the cast of the CW’s superhero drama Arrow as this season’s main recurring guest star. He will play Ray Palmer, a scientist and inventor who will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. In the DC Comics mythology, Palmer is known as The Atom, making Routh a two-time DC superhero. We hear the deal will span 14 episodes, and that he will be a love interest for Felicity.

Routh just completed an arc on TBS’ The Exes and recently wrapped the indie 400 Days opposite Dane Cook, Tom Cavanagh and Ben Feldman. Arrow‘s season premiere is October 8.

I've always liked Brandon Routh. I'm not sure how that's going to work with putting a superhero with actual powers with someone who's mostly like Batman(no powers) with arrows.

Well the Arrow is going to be in the "Pilot" of the Flash and I expect there will be a crossover at some point so its coming.

With DC Comics & Warner Bros. announcing that the TV Universe would be separate from the Cinematic Universe maybe we could get a visit from Robin or Nightwing!!

Arrow’s Roy Harper Upgrades to Arsenal for Season Three!

Arrow’s Roy Harper Upgrades to Arsenal for Season Three!

Ever since it was revealed that Colton Haynes would join the cast of The CW’s “Arrow” as Roy Harper it was only a matter of time before fans expected him to put on a hood and get a bow of his own. The wait is now over as The CW (via EW) has revealed our first official look at Roy for the third season and he’s in full on Arsenal mode! Though he first appeared as “Speedy” in the source material, Harper took on the mantel of Arsenal during his Teen Titan years and later reemerged as the Red Arrow.

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT on The CW with the new season set to premiere on October 8.

I think I've seen it done with both Green Arrow/The Atom and Hawkeye/Ant-Man, but the picture of the shrunk down hero sitting atop an arrowhead as the archer has the arrow drawn back makes for a cool pic. Would be neat to see if they could/would CGI that for a scene in Arrow.

Oliver gave Roy the cure for the Mirakuru in the end of last season right?

Do you have a picture of this? I tried to Google it but didn't see it.

BTW Brandon Routh and Nick from Grimm look so alike.

Don't have a pic. Think there's an Avengers cover somewhere in the 221-225 range of the original series showing Ant-Man holding on to an arrowhead as Hawkeye is getting ready to shoot the arrow.

I just remember thinking it was a cool team-up how two very different heroes played off each others strengths. It would be cool to see it played out on TV.

Ra's al Ghul Introduced in New Trailer for ARROW

Ra's al Ghul Introduced in New Trailer for ARROW

Yesterday the DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. TV announced that the main villain of Arrow season 3 will be Ra's al Ghul! They've been talking about him for awhile now, and he'll finally make his appearance. They even released a new trailer teasing the villain.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim talked about the character in an interview with THR.

"It really happened very organically in the sense that we had this notion that in episode 16 we were going to reveal that Malcolm Merlyn was trained by the League of Assassins and that's because that's because of the comic book. We were like, you know what we're going to do? We're going to get away with a little reference about a guy in Nanda Parbat who changed his life. That was just the beginning."

They started teasing the character in the season two episode Broken Dolls, and Guggenheim explained,

"We just slowly started creeping towards it and creeping towards it. Then discussions started happening with DC and then Superman-Batman started happening getting into clearer focus," he said. "The character seemed to be available as far as not being used in the movies. It was a very, very organic progression. That was what was fun for us, just how natural it happened."

He went on to discuss what they are planning on doing with the character.

"We have a really clever way of doing Ra's this year that is true to the comic-book origins but different from the way Ra's was portrayed in the Nolan movies. You don't want to compete withBatman Begins, even though we've always said Batman Begins was a big influence on us. We really wanted our Ra's to be very different — at least our own Arrow-ified version."

Arrow has been an awesome show to watch, and the inclusion of Ra's al Ghul is very exciting. I'm sure they'll handle the character with care, and do their best to make fans happy.

J.R. Ramirez To Play Wildcat On ‘Arrow’ Season 3

J.R. Ramirez To Play Wildcat On ‘Arrow’ Season 3

EXCLUSIVE: J.R. Ramirez has been cast as Ted “Wildcat” Grant on the upcoming third season of the CW‘s Arrow. The show’s executive producer Marc Guggenheim announced at Comic-Con this past weekend that the character would be introduced on the show in Season 3 but did not reveal casting information. The role is envisioned as a potentially recurring. In the DC Comics, Ted Grant is a member of the Justice Society for America, as well as the mentor and trainer of other masked vigilantes including the Black Canary.

In Arrow, Grant will be a former boxer who now runs a gym for underprivileged youth. A man with a mysterious past, he will play a pivotal role in Laurel Lance’s arc this season. Wildcat is one of two major DC comic book characters to be added to Arrow this coming seaso, along with villain Ra’s al Ghul. This marks Ramirez’s return to the CW where he recurred on Emily Owens, MD. The actor, repped by Mavrick Artists and manager Marie Mathews, has been recurring on Starz’s drama Power.

I've always liked Brandon Routh. I'm not sure how that's going to work with putting a superhero with actual powers with someone who's mostly like Batman(no powers) with arrows.

Um what about deathstroke isn't he a super soldier?
Or has it been made clear he's a ordinary human with great abilties?

Just because this is mainly a great human archer mainly fighting ordinary enemies as in no super powers doesn't mean you can't ever have super power characters on the tv show.
Maybe your confusing this with Nolan's Batman that wanted to avoid most all super power characters.

The trailer looks kickass be shocked if waller isn't Using the suicide squad which no doubt she mentioned at the end of the bronze tiger episode.

Not sure I can think of a more amazing feat by green arrow for this tv show when he got a arrow out lis shot a arrow not far from a guy that shot a rocket or missile to deny the missile from hitting him.
This was after the guy shot the missile so less time.

Then of course there was the firefighter episode where he shot a arrow to knock closed a lighter freakin incredible.
