11H - TOW gunner - those in the infantry who rode around in Humvees.....until they broke down and then had to hump it with a few hundred pounds of equipment.

Congrats, but why not 11 series?

I went in askin for an 11b option 40 contract but there had been so many people requesting an infantry slot they closed it off. I would have walked out and came back another time had the 13F not been availible. That was the only other thing i was willing to settle for. I think the training will help me drastically in the map reading and land nav in RIP.

I'm heading off to Boot Camp in Camp May in the summer. Assuming I advance, I will then head off to A School to become a Rescue Swimmer for the Coast Guard. Jesus, good luck in your future endeavors serving our country in the Army.

I know this isnt what this board is for, but i was just wondering if there are an Army Ex-Army etc. guys round here. Im 18 and I am probably about to enlist as an 11B with Airborne and the 40x option to attend Ranger School and RIP. I would welcome any advice or words of wisdom. Oh and if anyone has any negative comments about my choice, no offence but screw you, its my life not yours, and someone has to do it, might as well be me.

When I graduate I am going to do everything I can to get me a **********.

Watching them cut our boys' heads off just makes me sick and does nothing but piss me off. Especially when they hold up the severed head. Pisses me right off.

I will take a bullet or two to take one of their lives.

Good luck to you Stunna, Jesus, and whoever else I missed in this thread.

I hope you never join the United States Military.

Why? Because I would enjoy killing them? Yes, I would. It would make me feel bad, but I would get over it. They are terrorists and they deserve to die. I mean yeah, that's a pretty harsh statement. But it's the truth. People shouldn't have to worry about planes being driven into buildings or getting bombed. We have our rights and they shouldn't be interfered with to a certain extent.

I don't want to go to war just to shoot them. I'm a very patriotic person. Hence why I have two flags hanging on my walls in my bedroom, sing along with the National Anthem everytime I hear it, etc etc etc.

In all respect to you, I don't care what you say I should do and shouldn't do. I'm joining the service to help defend this country that so little people even care about. Once again, no disrespect towards you.

Whoa...slow down and take it easy there. I applaud your patriotism but there is a difference between wanting to serve and defend your country and goin to kill. If you went to MEPS with that attitude they might not let you in for certain "Moral" issues. Just take it easy and keep your eye on the prize

You are disturbed, Sir, and someone with something to do with your raising failed you, badly. When shots are fired in anger, you are doing your best to kill another man. After the fact, you reflect on your home, and family, and think that that guy you were trying to kill had a home and a family too. It's disgusting, this war thing, but it is a part of life.

People like yourself who think killing is an enjoyable experience are the same people who get excited after they have a deer on the ground, because they get to cut its throat. Sickening. Rather than being thankful for the harvest, they enjoy the kill. Do the nation a favor, and never volunteer to defend it.

The militia might be the spot for you. Either of those flags in the bedroom happen to be Confederate?

Signed the papers today...13F fire support specialist with option 40. Go Sat. to MEPS to finalize things.

Enjoy Ft Sill, if your going to do Airborne and Ranger School after basic and AIT, just be in the best shape of your life physically and mentally.

Just don't quit and you'll make it..

You'lll appreciate being a 13F, after you watch the 13b, humping those rounds...

As a former 11B, currently 11A, I commend you on your decision. Definitely take the RIP and Ranger option. With the current op-tempo, Ranger slots are being pulled away from guys that are already in units due to mobilization (this has now happened to me twice.)

non-tabbed infantry offficer, didn't know to many of those..

You guys took it the wrong way but oh well I'm not gonna sit and try to defend myself against 10 other people.

So you guys win, I messed up...?

Look, I understand that you are 16 and maybe you just got through watching Full Metal Jacket or 300. Maybe at this stage in your life you actually would find joy in killing someone that you believe deserved to die. However, if you plan on enlisting the United States Military, you need to re-examine that perversion over the next two years. Having a bloodlust does not lead to heroism. More often than not it leads to international incidents...
