Arky Fans Not Happy With Hire

I mean TBF-if Golesh did agree to take the gig (even verbally) then that is not good on his part

Yeah yeah yeah signatures. Coaching contracts usually aren't signed for months in full. A separate bare bones agreement is put in place to allow them to function in the job until the contract is signed.

That's how Bama got out of paying Mike Price and that was months after he took the job.

Oh yes-and Silverfield does indeed suck.

That and violating a standard morals clause with the hooker.....

Arkansas folks leaked Golesh before he wanted and caused issues.

Arkansas totally screwed this up. Golesh has zero blame as to why he is at Auburn and not Arkansas.

So, Arkansas loses the coaching carousel sweepstakes? Surely, one of these Memphis coaches will make good in the Bigs one of these days.

With Wal-Mart, Tyson Chicken and Jerry Jones $$$...how are they still so bad?

I don't think the Wal.Mart people care two rips about Arkansas football. If they did, the Razorbacks would never lose a game.

The Tyson folks are the equivalent of the Haslems from what I understand-and that is not good.

Jerruh is Jerruh. Either it's all about him and he gets to run the show or he has no interest

NFL rules prohibit Jerry from giving to NIL while he’s an active owner. The Waltons don’t give much at all aside from sponsorships. Tyson is mostly basketball.

The potential is always there but it just seems like it’s always more of a concept than reality. There are like 12 billionaires connected to Arkansas but none of them want to get into the college football scene.

Even without Walmart money you’d think they could find someone better than a guy who’s best finish at Memphis was 3rd in the AAC. If you’re not above bringing back Petrino as OC and interim head coach, why not give him another year or two until someone better is available? They had a great offense but one of the worst D’s in the country. Let him hire a DC and stabilize the program until they could hire someone decent.

I'm not saying Silverfield is a good coach, but he has never had a losing season in 6 years and he won at least 10 games back to back in 2023 and 2024. He also beat Alex Golesh this year, who everyone thought was the better candidate.

Who exactly did Arky fans think they were going to hire? Franklin wasn't about to come coach a bottom tier SEC program with how difficult it is to win in the SEC. VT has a much easier path to the playoffs and he's always been a northeastern guy. I guess Brian Kelly would have been a good option, but you have no clue whether or not he is even interested in coaching again right away. So who else are you going to hire?

I think Arkansas, while not a great job in the landscape of the SEC, definitely has enough resources to be much better than they have been. Kentucky and Missouri have had consistent success lately. Arkansas is equal or better than them, as a program.

I do wonder what Brian Kelly would do to try to show he fits in at Arkansas.

I don't think he could just do an accent.

Maybe dance with his sister or cousin in a video?
