How does everyone feel about this game? I know Vegas opened us up as a 7.5 favorite but what is the feel from Volnation?

My biggest questions are:
1) will we attempt to have some sort of passing attack?
2) will we quit sending on three guys on 3rd and 4th and long plays?
AND
3) How many yards will we allow on the ground?

i'm not betting on the game, but if I had to I would take arky.

I think you got this one guys! Arky is so upset about last week that the word around Fayetteville is to save on University expense the football team may not even show up. ;) I wouldnt expect to see many hog fans there at all. I talked to Super Hawg on FB sunday after he had a day to cool down and sober up...he kindas big and gets mean when he's drinking. He's not going for sure.

I see it going like this...

We play loose and have good play calling for the first half. Lead by 10 at halftime. Hold on during the third, then in the fourth we collapse and lose.

I promise you if we have a 10 point lead in the 4th and lose again Butch is gone.

We are a bad match up for them. They struggle against running QB's and tall wideouts. Plus they have Brandon Allen who can't make a play when it counts in the 4th quarter. Who knows what will happen in the 4th quarter...

We're telling our players there are 5 quarters in the game so that when it comes time to lose it, the game will already be over.

4) How will Coach manage a lead in the 4th qtr?

I believe the answer is in today's presser.

Coach (after experiencing numerous successful 4th down conversions against him/and 2 significant 4th qtr losses in the last few weeks) remains confident he can (while scheming to give the ball over on 4th down rather than seal victory with another score) dictate opposing coaches' timeouts and ability to not score in the remaining minutes of the 60 Total --

From today's presser,

(Question, RE: On third-down play call on offensive possession up 27-21)

Answer:

"We wanted them to use their timeout so that when they gained the ball back, they had very few timeouts left."

Again, "so that when they gained the ball back."

“We have what we call a four-minute offense and within that, we are trying to protect the lead and gain some field position. It was a situation in which we felt very comfortable that we thought running the clock. If you throw the ball and it’s an incomplete pass, now it stops the clock. We wanted them to use their timeout so that when they gained the ball back, they had very few timeouts left. There is a lot that goes into that. We had great confidence in our run game if you look at what we were able to do. Unfortunately, we had three-and-out and had to punt the football, but we were also able to get them to chew up some of their timeouts and move the clock down as well. That’s opponent by opponent, but we do have an offensive game plan for that type of situation.”

How has Brandon Allen played this year, in your opinion?

Also how is your rush defense? Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy your time here?

Brandon has played great this year for 3 1/2 quarters. Pretty sure he leads the SEC in passing yardage (or did before our last game). But when forced to make a play late in the 4th he has come up short every time...he is the opposite of clutch. It's not all his fault, our OL has committed a ridiculous amount of penalties and our 3 starting WRs are out for most of the season, but still.

Our rush defense is better than our pass defense, but that isn't saying much. We haven't faced a back like Hurd yet. I think we match up better with offenses like LSU rather than say A&M because our LBs are terrible in pass coverage and we aren't fast enough to fly to the ball against spread offenses. Dobb's scrambling ability worries me. Mahomes from Texas Tech and Murray from A&M killed us on the ground.

The more I think about this, I believe Dave Hart is missing a golden opportunity. This game should be sponsored to the hilt. It could be called the Two Men and a Truck Bowl. Zillow could pay to have their logo at the 50, and during the game show each coach's family on the board surfing their site for new houses. Packing materials, 3m tape, the opportunities are endless.
We've got potential buyouts to consider here people. Can't leave money on the table.
