Arkansas board reporting

I would think that would be unlikely, given the success and well deserved hype Pearl has received this year. Why would he deny himself the opportunity to pick up his present and at least shake it...If it's true, they must have some powerful brainwash overthere in ARKY. Maybe they use Scoop instead of Scope.

Maybe they told him they'd hire his old HS coach to be their Bball Off. Coordinator, too. Maybe he can room w/Mustain.

Ramar Smith will not visit UT and will commit to Arkansas

Some say the source is usually a good one, keep your fingers crossed that he's wrong.

IDK how good he is. There are no dates on the quotes so they could be before he reassured CBP that he would be visiting. He also says in the article that Ramar won't likely make his scheduled visit on the 14th, but he was never visiting the 14th. He was/is scheduled for the 7th. All Ramar says in the article is that Arky is on top but he is still looking at UT. I don't know where the "he won't be visiting" stuff started. I'm guessing they are assuming since the 14th is during the signing period that he won't be coming to UT, but like I said, he's not scheduled to be in on that weekend.

The skinny: Smith is an electrifying scorer at the guard position, and despite his size, doesn't fit anyone's description of a point guard. He's mature physically, can overpower a lot of players at his position, and is a fantastic penetrator and finisher once he's in the lane. He is not an elite shooter along the lines of a Chris Lofton, but he is an elite scorer.

He may not fit the bill as a pure point guard, but adding him would give the Vols another accomplished ball-handler, and a player who physically, is probably as prepared to come into college and compete at the guard position as anyone in the class.

Pearl and associate head coach Tony Jones were in Detroit last week, and as of right now, we expect Smith to be on campus the weekend of April 7 for an official visit. That's significant because to this point, the only official visit he's taken has been to Arkansas on Feb. 21.

As of right now, we'll term this one a two-team battle between the Vols and the Razorbacks, and though hard information on Smith is tough to come by, much of the buzz at the moment has Tennessee being in good position.

The 'X-factor' in the equation might be Illinois. Coach Bruce Weber and the Illini have been involved with Smith since back in the fall, but haven't seemed to be pursuing him with the same level of vigor that Tennessee and Arkansas have shown in the last couple of months. The general feeling is that Illinois remains a threat, and could affect things if they come after him hard in the next few weeks.

I hope the young man has a nice career. I just don't think he would help UT.

well considering he was out of the game with foul trouble during our big lead, and he made 4 straight 3's to bring his team back... i see no point whatsoever
