Arian Foster

By reading some earlier posts you mention the likes of Cobb, Webb, Stewart and Lewis. Is there anyone on our team that has the potential to be anywhere near as productive as any of these guys in your opinion?
Haven't seen Creer against college competition, so can't really judge him yet. Hardesty, Foster, and Coker all have attributes that give them some value. However, none of them have the combination of talents that Cobb, Webb, and Lewis had. Stewart was less talented than the other three former Vols mentioned.

 now that's fair......

Yes, but Stewart had heart and gumption. He gave what it took to be productive, and got drafted for it. And got NFL play time. The current trio has yet to show that kind of drive.

that's what happens when you're called "little man" most of your adult life.......big chip on the shoulder.....

With so much love evident for Chuck Webb, does anyone have access to an old Vols Bicentennial poster that had the caption of "100 Years of Volunteers" with a background of Gene McIver's (sp) famous pose and good ol' Chuckie running straight at you?

Ok dude. :) To say that when someone says "4.3" they are obviously meaning "4.30 or lower" is stretching the vernacular to the breaking point. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find, for example, many (or even any) references on this board to a player or recruit running a 4.3 or 4.4 and have the poster meaning "4.30/4.40 or faster". Besides, Ye Gods man, if your ceiling is an electronically timed 4.30 you're talking about an incredibly small number of people that have pulled that off regardless of position. Don't you think that's a bit of an unreasonable bar for comparison to be setting in the first place?

To be fair though, if it is your intent to claim that the NFL isn't exactly awash in 4.30 or faster running backs I totally agree. :eek:k:

the parts in bold are exactly what i am getting at. and there is a pretty common misconception that sub 4.3s happen fairly often at the combine, but it is almost always hand-timed at a pro-day.

Coker's two longest runs, which you were definitely including in your blanket statement, were not bounced outside.

The one I remember best was a bend back. He starter right and found a lane back to the left. He eventually ended up running down the sideline... about 35 yards downfield.

100% correct

In that case I can only find one fault with your assertions. There is not a "pretty common misconception" about hand-times run at pro-days, there is a RAMPANT misconception comparing those times to the electronic ones run at the combine. :)

I'm not sure how they could enforce it but I'd like to see pro-days eliminated. Show up to the combine or expect to get drafted lower or paid less. Of course, everybody that didn't want to run would claim a "training injury" that day so I guess we're stuck with the system we have. Oh well, it's still better than it once was.

Put both hands on the football and Hold on to it.
It was a good hit during the Bowl Game, but he should have had both hands on the ball. Late in the game, Field Goal for certain. Oh I forgot, it must have been Fulmer's fault.

Hopefully this can change and great things will happen.

Go Big Orange

If he fumbles in practice he's likely to fumble in games. Nobody's expecting perfection, but players generally play in games the way they practice.

Trooper makes his receivers run when they drop passes in practice. Whoever is coaching RB's should follow Trooper's lead.

I thought one of the reasons Fulmer wanted to redshirt Coker as a freshmen was because he thought he had a problem holding on to the ball.

Hey, I remember Arian's mom used to post here. I guess she didn't like the criticism. Anyone thinks she'll be back?

yeah.....knowing some of the folks i do from that area....it does give me a chuckle or two.....:)

Campbell County... probably the only county in the state that would give Cocke County a run for its money as "Most Corrupt Law Enforcement Agency".
