6 games into the season and he still leads the nfl in rushing. Can't believe he turned out to be this good. I thought he'd make it to the NFL, but not at this level. :clapping:

Yes, especially since he almost single handedly caused Fulmer his job with all the fumbles in the red and end zone.

makes you wonder about our coaching fundamentals, offensive schemes, and offensive line woes for several years......

Well, if this is any indication of what decent coaching can do then it should have cost Fulmer his job for retaining apparent incompetent RB coaches.

I have said before that the biggest problem Fulmer had was his loyalty to his coaches.

Probably a combination of defenses having to worry about Houston's passing attack and him having a huge chip on his shoulder over not being drafted. His running style is perfect for Houston's offense.

Just hope that he doesn't run for over 200 on the Colts again. Well, he can as long as Houston loses.

He had 3 career fumbles. Big whoop.

I love it when people engage mouth without knowing what they are talking about....:eek:k:

The first one was in the South Carolina game in 2005, at the goal line going in with a 12-7 second quarter lead. The Vols lost 16-15.

The second one was in the Outback Bowl at the end of the 2006 season. In a 10-10 ball game with ten minutes left, Foster fumbled at the Penn State 12, and it was returned 88 yards for a touchdown. Penn State won 20-10.

The next one was at Florida in 2007, with the Vols trailing 28-20 with the ball in the third quarter. Florida picked it up and ran it back for six. They never looked back, 59-20.

At UCLA in 2008, Foster fumbled going inside the five yard line with the Vols ahead 14-7 on the first drive of the third quarter. UCLA won in overtime.

A few weeks later at Auburn, another Foster fumble led to another defensive touchdown. The Vols lost 14-12.

Five fumbles in four years. These are to name a few when the game was on the line. There were more....:salute: You think we win those games Fulmer is still here...Yea that's what I thought....

I don't expect him to stay the rushing leader for the entire season but its cool, even if he is on a rival team.

So let's get this straight...in the 5 games that you mentioned we scored: 15, 10, 20, 14, and 12 points. Not exactly an offensive juggernaut that will win SEC games...I think that is more the reason Fulmer is gone, fans were tired of getting 10 points and then sitting on it for 3 quarters hoping to win.

Fulmer is gone because he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Let's be honest - his assistants did his job for him. When they started doing it badly - Fulmer got fired.

Im glad he is doing well, but you forgot the biggest one!

Bammer '05, it was 6-3, we were driving on last pos. of the game and he fumbled going in to the end zone. Punched a hole in my door after that! Never forget it!

That was over a 4 year period and were hard fought tough games. Add seven points to those totals (22,17,27,21,19) and it makes quite a difference. Bammer was no offensive juggernaut in 08 (or 09), most games were in the 20's or less. Defensive juggernauts are what wins, but you have to have that score when its right there.
